University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Today on KSR: Basketball Recruiting at the Nike EYBL and the NFL Draft’s Conclusion

For a Saturday in April, it’s a busy time for the Big Blue Nation.

Jack Pilgrim is in Atlanta watching the nation’s top college basketball recruits play in the opening weekend of the Nike EYBL. If you aren’t following him, you’re crazy. If you are following Jack, you’d know John Calipari and the Kentucky coaching staff watched R.J. Hampton, Cliff Omoruyi, Isaiah Jackson and Terrence Clarke.

You’ll find interviews with top prospects and much more on KSR throughout the day. If you aren’t completely prepared to dive into basketball recruiting, there’s one more day of drafting in Nashville.

Last night a pair of Wildcats discovered their new NFL homes. Lonnie Johnson Jr. was taken by the Houston Texans with the 53rd overall pick. Mike Edwards’ name was called in the third round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 99th overall pick. They will not be the last UK defensive backs drafted.

A handful of Wildcats are still waiting to receive the life-changing call. So far the Cats have a pick in each round; will that streak stay alive? Download the KSR app and turn on your notifications to know exactly where the Cats go.

The Titans have been Canceled

Sorry, Drew. There’s no coming back from this.

Pat McAfee found a way to one-up Reggie Wayne.

Top Football Recruits on Campus

Mark Stoops doesn’t have to travel as far as John Calipari to see a five-star recruit. Justin Rogers, the tenth-ranked player in America, is one of a handful of official visitors on campus this weekend. Joining the top-ranked offensive guard in America are two four-star tackles, a three-star cornerback and potentially the quarterback of the future, four-star pocket-passer Beau Allen.

Stoops and Vince Marrow can turn UK’s 2018 success into unprecedented recruiting wins this weekend.

Opening Night at Churchill Downs

Tonight racing returns to the Derby City. Live music and artists will perform in the paddock throughout the night to get you prepared for a wonderful Derby Week. Gates open at 5:00. First post is set for 6:00.

It’s always a spectacular night at the track. The only thing I don’t like about Opening Night is price of admission. Seventeen dollars? You serious, Churchill? Do you really need that much more money before you take an arm and a leg Derby week?

NBA Playoff Schedule

One Eastern Conference semifinals series opens while a Western Conference first round series concludes.

  • 7:30: Philadelphia at Toronto on TNT
  • 10:00: San Antonio at Denver on TNT

Camron Justice Returns to Kentucky

The former Knott County Central star is taking his talents to Western Kentucky University as a grad transfer. Justice started his career at Vanderbilt before transferring to IUPUI. Last season the sharpshooter averaged 18.1 points per game for the Jaguars.

A HUGE Win on the Diamond

In the final SEC series of the regular season, the UK softball team went to Tuscaloosa and knocked off the No. 3 team in the country. Grace Baalman pitched a pearl to help the Cats take down Alabama 4-1 in the first game of the series.

Game two will air on ESPN tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET.
