Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Today on KSR: Another Domino Falls

Yesterday the KSR meow returned to reveal that Wenyen Gabriel will declare for the NBA Draft.  He will not hire an agent, leaving the door open for a possible return to the team for the 2018-19 season.  The expected move was the right one for right now, but what happens next is anyone’s guess.

There are now just two Wildcats who have yet to state their status publicly, Jarred Vanderbilt and Quade Green.  Vanderbilt’s injury makes it a complicated mystery, something Kentucky fans have grown accustomed to over the last year.  On the other hand, Green is in the center of speculation.  None of the transfer rumors have come from the point guard’s camp, but last night a NBC Sports Boston reporter said he’s likely heading to La Salle.  Huh?

REPORT: Quade Green could transfer from Kentucky, La Salle would be top option

There’s still very little information from either camp.  All we can do is continue to play the waiting game as next year’s roster remains fluid.

It’s a Photoshoot

I’m not posting this video because I wanted to make a dated Gucci Mane reference.  I am posting this video because somebody asked about Dorian Baker on yesterday’s KSR.

The answer: Dorian is healthy enough to jump on C.J. Conrad’s back (who is healthy enough to support him).  If the caller wants to know more about Baker’s road to recovery, read this and know that he’ll be back in time for the season to start.

New Football Flex Packs Available

Miss your chance to get season tickets?  Don’t worry, you can still get inside Kroger Field this fall with UK’s three-game flex pack from $107 to $175.

If that’s not enough, you can get a four-game package from $172 to $248 that will get you a seat to watch the Cats play Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi State and the season-oopener, Central Michigan.  You can also now buy tickets in UK’s allotment for the 2018 road games.  Click here to get in on the action.

New Podcasts Everywhere

For the first time in more than six months, KSR’s fearless leader has recorded a podcast.  The Matt Jones Podcast made its triumphant return with a wonderful conversation with Rex Chapman.  His relationship with the Wildcats provides unique insight into the 2018 basketball team you won’t hear anywhere else.

But wait, THERE’S MORE!  The Funkhouser crew is getting today to recreate the situation, while Aaron Torres brings some heat on the podcast airwaves with NBA draft expert Sam Vecenie.

Nick, in basketball schedule listings the home team is usually listed second. Just FYI.

Regarding potential transfers, if a guy is not confident enough that he can win minutes by being better than new guys coming in…he probably isn’t confident or competitive enough to be at UK. We wish them well and be on your way…

I agree with you. But what I don’t like is that there is so much speculation based on nothing significant. Then people end up commenting and saying stupid things. Of course I hope Quade returns and makes a big impact…in fact, I want him to be a four year player and make a huge impact the next three years, go to the NBA and be great. If he doesn’t do that, it won’t effect me at all really. If Quade’s camp really thinks he wasn’t used correctly last year then they need to get on the same page with Cal as quickly as possible. I truly believe Cal wants to see Quade succeed.

Watchu I totally agree with what your saying. I believe at times these players make their decisions without doing alot of talking to the right people. I too hope Quade stays here and if he needs to stay here 4 years to reach his dreams he does so.

I just don’t see it as a domino falling is all because there is nothing definitive about it. The expression typically involves an action that leads to something else but this is nothing until it is final and nothing is resulting from this. Idk, whatever lol.
