Today on KSR: Welcome back to work

Good morning, friends, and shoutout to this Kentucky fan for repping the Cats in my favorite city in the world, Florence, Italy. Sir, I hope you treated yourself to a Bistecca alla Fiorentina at Buca Lapi and a nice Chianti Classico in the Piazza del Signoria. Damnit, now I want to go back to Florence.

In case you’re just getting back online after the holiday, here’s what you missed.

Two Fourth of July football commitments

Mark Stoops celebrated the Fourth by reeling in two three-star prospects from the state of Florida. Wide receiver DeMarcus Harris and tight end Nikolas Ognenovic committed to Kentucky yesterday, bringing the number of pledges in 2019 class to fourteen:

  • Moses Douglass, S
  • KD McDaniel, OLB
  • Travis Tisdale, RB
  • Demontae Crumes, WR
  • Nikolas Ognenovic, TE
  • Nik Scalzo, Dual QB
  • Marque Bembry, ATH
  • Jay Ward, CB
  • Tra Wilkins, OLB
  • Jalen Geiger, CB
  • DeMarcus Harris, WR
  • Jake Pope, OT
  • Eli Cox, OG
  • Taures Payne, SDE

Jumpman, Jumpman?

UK sent out this picture from practice yesterday to show the Cats at work on the July 4th holiday, but all anyone can talk about are the new Jumpman practice uniforms. Does this mean the end of the checkerboard unis is near?? Please???

BBNBA showdown tonight in the Summer League

If you’ve missed out on the Summer League so far, you’ve got a great opportunity to watch three Cats in action at once tonight at the Heat (Bam Adebayo) take on the Kings (De’Aaron Fox, Wenyen Gabriel) at 5 p.m. on NBATV.

The real fun begins tomorrow as the Vegas Summer League gets underway. For a complete schedule of the former Kentucky players participating, click here.

Joey Chestnut DID break the world record

Joey Chestnut won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest for the eleventh time yesterday, but if you turned it off right after it ended, you might not know that he set a new world record. Chestnut ate 74 dogs in 10 minutes, ten more than the count showed when the contest was over. Turns out the counters missed a plate of ten dogs Joey ate during the competition, but the error was fixed after officials checked the tape afterwards. Thank goodness.

Did you know Isaac Humphries is pals with a reality TV star?

If you watch Below Deck: Mediterranean, you know who Hannah Ferrier is, but did you know that she’s pals with former Cat Isaac Humphries? The two Aussies have been spotted together a lot recently and this week, hung out in Malibu:

That Prom pose ?????? love you @isaachumphries7 ??? PS I am not short!

Just pals or something more? Isaac’s not telling:

Season two of GLOW is awesome

I beat the record-breaking heat yesterday by watching plenty of season two of GLOW and I might like it even more than the first, episode eight especially. Anyone else spend the holiday binging?

KSR is at Beaver Dam Amphitheater

The KSR Summer Tour picks back up today at Beaver Dam Amphitheater (217 South Main Street). Tonight is KSR Night at the Owensboro River Dawgs vs. Madisonville Miners game at Chautauqua Park in Owensboro, so come on out to see the guys be honorary coaches and throw the first pitch out. Who will do best?

My money’s on Ryan, but I’m sure it will be a big topic of debate on today’s show.

Relationship goals: Find someone who looks at you the way E.J. Montgomery looks at Nick Richards.
