Thon Maker “not likely” to reclassify to 2015

Thon Maker is one of the most sought after prospects in the 2016 recruiting class and it’s likely it stays that way, says his guardian. According to an Australian basketball Twitter account, Ed Smith, the guardian, said it is “not likely” Maker jumps to 2015. It was reported he was considering it a couple of months ago and would wait to see how he fills out his frame.

This news may explain why Calipari was watching Skal Labissiere in Vegas last night when Maker and Brandon Ingram were playing against each other right down the road at the same time.

I may not understand reclassifying but it would seem it must mean kids getting all of their high school credits in just three years. Something tells me all these guys aren’t savants able to handle the pressures and attention of basketball, recruitment, etc. and still able to pull that one off. It really makes it appear like a BUNCH of these kids are getting something a bit beyond special treatment.

Cal should be at every game, scrimmage, practice or workout that Thon Maker participates in; no matter what class he is in. He has to be in blue and white. And I don’t mean Kansas or Duke!
