There has been some hope that Cal can add just one last piece to the 2019-20 Kentucky Basketball roster, and that one piece might just be N’faly Dante.
Dante, a 6’10” center out of Sunrise Christain Academy in Kansas, is one of the top players in the 2020 class. There have been some rumblings that he is trying to reclassify although initial reports have made it seem as though Dante’s academic situation may not allow him to reclassify to join college basketball this year. But, a recent tweet from college basketball expert and Rivals reporter David Sisk spells good news for the Cats.
I’m hearing buzz that a decision on N’Faly Dante’s reclassification should be coming very, very soon. One source told me Kentucky’s chances are getting better and better. @KentuckyRivals @RowlandRIVALS

According to Rivals, there is no clear cut favorite for Dante, but the three favorites seem to be LSU, Oregon, and Kentucky. The trend seems to be heading in Kentucky’s direction though, as one of the three recruiting experts following Dante, Eric Rossi, forecasted Dante to pick the Cats yesterday afternoon. The other two experts have not updated their forecast since July 14th.
If Dante is somehow able to reclassify to pick Kentucky he will join EJ Montgomery, Nick Richards, and Nate Sestina in the frontcourt for this upcoming season. If Cal can land Dante for this season, it would be a huge get that could complete Kentucky’s frontcourt, that is currently lacking some depth.
We’ll see what Dante’s future holds soon enough, and there’s no doubt KSR’s Jack Pilgrim will have some insider notes as well. Until then, check out some of N’Faly Dante’s highlights:
