The Sources Say Podcast Ep. 19: Kentucky’s frontcourt shines, NBA Draft talk, and recruiting updates on UK’s top targets

KSR’s Jack Pilgrim is joined by Travis Graf and David Sisk of Cats Illustrated for episode nineteen of the Sources Say Podcast. This week, the trio of recruiting insiders start the show by breaking down Kentucky’s improved play of late and whether or not they are “back.”

Among the topics:

  • What’s working with this team right now?
  • Is Nick Richards is playing his way into the first round of the NBA Draft?
  • EJ Montgomery is taking much-needed steps forward
  • Is Ashton Hagans the best point guard in the county? John Calipari thinks so
  • How does Kentucky compare to the other top teams in college basketball?

Then, the Sources Say crew discusses the latest in UK’s upcoming recruiting class and whether or not that will include the likes of JT Thor, Greg Brown, and Cliff Omoruyi, among others.

They also discuss a top-ranked freshman who is already dying to come to Kentucky.

A few talking points:

  • What’s with all the JT Thor buzz?
  • Kentucky continues to trend with Cliff Omoruyi
  • Would you rather have Thor or Omoruyi? Or both?
  • Greg Brown visits Auburn
  • 2023 prospect Marvel Allen is already penciling himself in as a Kentucky Wildcat. Significant or not?

They close the show by answering questions from the mailbag and talking about some interesting moments covering high school recruiting.

A few topics of discussion:

  • Who will enter the NBA Draft from the current roster?
  • Is Kahlil Whitney a one-and-done?
  • Is Michael Foster an option in the class of 2021?
  • What about some of the top 2022 prospects?
  • Who are the top shooters in the class of 2020?
  • When will we know about potential graduate transfers?

One word should have been left out of article. Nick playing himself into the NBA draft lottery. Should have been, Nick playing himself into the NBA draft.
Adding the word lottery, ruined credibility.

Stopped reading when you put Nick playing himself into Lottery what a joke when we starting play teams that he don’t have six inches on player he is going up against we will see the real Nick. Cal need to talk to Louisville’s coach on how to turn your program around in two years, can’t stand the cards but you have to give them credit.

If you all cant see that Nick has greatly improved, then why even watch basketball? He most certainly can play his way into the lottery because of his size and length. He just has to keep getting better.
