The Most Popular Thanksgiving Side Dish in Kentucky is…

Don’t look now, but we are just over two weeks away from Thanksgiving. A wonderful, often overlooked holiday dedicated to stuffing a turkey before you stuff your face, let’s prepare by seeing what sides will be filling tables across the Commonwealth this year.

Career website Zippia used Google trends to decipher what’s the most popular Thanksgiving side in each state. As expected, almost every single selection — 47 of the 50 states — enjoy some form of cheesy, carby goodness over vegetables. Kentucky’s choice combines the best of both worlds. According to the Google searches, broccoli casserole is the top Thanksgiving side dish in Kentucky.

As an objective third party, I can confirm that my mother’s broccoli casserole is in fact the best Thanksgiving side dish. You can’t go wrong with casseroles around Thanksgiving in almost any form. Typically, these maps produce ridiculous findings that almost certainly can’t be true. Iowa’s love for corn proves these folks aren’t up to any funny business.

Only seventeen more days until we’re feasting on leftover Thanksgiving side dishes and enjoying the second Kentucky basketball game of the season.
