Roughly one month after their male counterparts arrived, the Kentucky Women’s Basketball team is expected to report to campus this weekend.
The majority of the Kentucky Men’s Basketball team has been on the University’s campus since late June and the UK Football team has been slowly arriving since the middle of June. Now it looks like the ladies are the next team that will be phased into their home.

There’s going to be a ton of new faces you might not be familiar with, either. While head coach Matthew Mitchell returns a heap of production from a season ago–including reigning SEC Player of the Year Rhyne Howard along with Blair Green, Chasity Patterson, KeKe McKinney, and Tatyana Wyatt–he’s dealing with a ton of roster turnover:
- Five seniors graduated from last year’s squad, four of them playing important minutes throughout the season.
- Over the summer, Mitchell went out and added three impressive transfers, highlighted by former Tennessee guard Jazmine Massengill.
- A top-ranked recruiting class featuring five-star wing Treasure Hunt, four-star forward Nyah Leveretter, and three-star guard Erin Toller–a Kentucky native.
- Point guard Kameron Roach (Jr.) and forward Dre’una Edwards (So.) both sat out all of last season due to injury and are expected to be ready to go once the fall rolls around.
The core will remain mostly the same, but with a brand new supporting cast. Depending on what happens with Massengill along with fellow transfers Robyn Benton and Olivia Owens, Kentucky’s roster could go deeper than 10 players. In all, there are going to be six brand new faces (three transfers and three freshmen) on campus that you should definitely get yourself acquainted with and another two you might not know of quite yet (Roach and Edwards).
We’ll be bringing you all of that content right here on KSR.
