On this day, way back in 1962, ABC debuted The Jetsons, its first program broadcast in color. The Hanna-Barbera production was created as a space-age counterpart to The Flintsones, another Hanna-Barbera cartoon hit from the 60s.
The Jetsons lasted three seasons with 75 total episodes, but those episodes have aired a billion times on television over the years in syndication. The series would later become a movie — appropriately titled Jetsons: The Movie — in 1990. The film served as a finale to the television series.
To celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the show, I’m going to share the intro so it will be stuck in your head all day.
You’ll be hearing that hours from now.
We have another KSR Football Podcast coming your way today.
I don’t know how you all feel about them, but I really enjoy recording the football podcasts with Freddie, Jared and Nick. With all due respect to Matt and the KSR morning and pregame shows, it’s a different dynamic doing a podcast with those guys and I’ve found it to be equally fun. Not to mention, hearing Freddie and Jared talk actual football has been very educating and refreshing. That’s an area we’ve lacked since the beginning of time, admittedly.
So look for this week’s to hit the internet some time later today. We’re shooting for noon but iTunes can be stubborn. We’ll let you know. And let us know if you enjoy it.
Mark Stoops will talk on this week’s SEC Coaches Teleconference.
Stoops is set to pick up the phone a little after lunch and I will be dialed in on the other end, listening for the latest as the Cats prepare for Mizzou. A full rundown of his comments will follow around 2:00ish or so, depending how long he goes.
Shannon Dawson was very defensive after yesterday’s practice.
When asked about Dorian Baker struggling with drops, Dawson responded, “I’ve never known of a receiver that didn’t drop a pass. You guys are making way too much of that. I’m just being honest with you. I’ve never had one that didn’t. Kevin White (who Dawson coached at WVU last season) dropped balls. Guess what? He was the sixth pick overall. Have you ever made a mistake? All right, what did you do about it? Learned it, moved on, right? That’s what we’re doing. He’s going to drop another one one day guys. He makes a lot of them too.”
Dawson also took ownership of his offense’s struggles and said he told all of his players on Monday, “Point your finger at yourself. When you get done with that game on Saturday and you sit there on Sunday, look at what you could’ve done to change the game, not what somebody else could’ve done.”
Love the comments, now let’s see the improvement.
Patrick Towles deleted all social media off his phone.
No Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
“All that stuff is off my phone,” Towles said after yesterday’s practice.
You can attend a Louisville football game for what I spend on one order at Taco Bell.
A ten dollar bill will get you in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium to watch winless UofL this Saturday — or in any of its other three remaining home games this season, for that matter. And to think, Tommy Turtleneck plans to add more seats to the stadium. Mmmmkay.
John Calipari met with Harry Giles and Edrice “Bam” Adebayo last night.
Adebayo is quickly becoming a primary target for Calipari in the 2016 class, while Giles is, well, Giles. He’s a future No. 1 pick.
