The Inaugural Kentucky 2A State Championship is this weekend in Owensboro

For the first time, Kentucky will crown a 2A State Basketball Champion this weekend.

Similar to the All ‘A’ Classic, the new tournament provides an opportunity for smaller schools to shine on a big stage.  Sixteen boys and girls’ teams from across the state traveled to Owensboro for a chance to compete for a 2A Championship.

All of the action will take place at the Owensboro Sportscenter over the next three days.

If you can’t make it to Western Kentucky, the Boys’ LIT semifinals are tonight at Valley High School in Louisville.  Ballard plays Seneca at 6:30 pm and Waggener will take on Trinity in the nightcap at approximately 8:00 pm.  The winners will face off tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.

The All ‘A’ Classic State Tournament will tip-off next weekend in Richmond at Eastern Kentucky University.
