There WILL be baseball in Lexington this summer, but with a Big Blue twist.
It was announced earlier this month that, due to the cancellation of minor league baseball thanks to COVID-19, both the Lexington Legends and Florence Y’alls would join forces to organize a summer league. Both organizations have created two teams apiece and the rosters were announced on Friday, with plenty of familiar faces coming back to the Bluegrass State.

So far, nine former Kentucky Wildcats are listed on a roster along with several other local players who once attended a Kentucky college. Even Ben Revere, a former Lexington Catholic product who led the National League in hits back in 2014, is expected to play.
Lexington will field the Legends and Leyendas while Florence will go with the Y’alls and Freedom. Former ‘Cats Jake Hamilton, Aaron McGeorge, Tommy Warner, and John Wilson will join the Legends while Zach Logue, Chris Machamer, Kole Cottam, Luke Becker, and Luke Heyer will play for the Leyendas.
Here’s a look at the full rosters for both Lexington teams.
The Battle of the Bourbon Trail is set to begin in Lexington on Saturday, August 1. Games will be played in both Lexington and Florence every Wednesday through Sunday for six weeks.
