That Georgios Papagiannis guy is going to the NBA

Remember Georgios Papagiannis? He was a name being tossed around for a potential late addition to Kentucky’s 2015 recruiting class last summer. One of those internet legends that pop up when Cal has a hole to fill in a class, similar to the Omer Yurtseven fella being mentioned now.

Well, Papagiannis — or George Papa, as we liked to call him — is taking his talents to the National Basketball Association by entering this summer’s draft. Georga Papa spent the last year playing professionally in Greece, electing to go that route over N.C. State, St. John’s and Kentucky. We never really knew just how interested Kentucky was, but Papa insisted the Wildcats were in the mix when he made his decision last July.

If for some reason you don’t remember our boy George Papa, revisit the Six Things You Need To Know About Him from Mrs. Tyler.

I still kinda miss the thought of Tom Leach having to say Papagiannis on the broadcast.

I don’t know anything about Yurtseven, but 247 has him as the top rated center this year over Bolden and Allen … I’d take any guy over Lee. Hopefully if a senior Lee is what we end up, he can prove me wrong.

Considering how many people here struggled just to spell “Ulis” correctly, it’s probably a good thing George Papagiannis didn’t end up here.
