Tapwrit Wins the Belmont Stakes

For the third time in four years, a Tapit horse has won horse racing’s longest race.  Joining  Tonalist and Creator, Tapwrit caught the favorite Irish War Cry in the final furlong to win the Belmont Stakes by two lengths.

Ridden by Jose Ortiz and trained by Todd Pletcher, it’s Pletcher’s second Triple Crown win this year following Always Dreaming’s Kentucky Derby victory.

Irish War Cry placed and Patch showed.  That’s right, a one-eyed horse came in third in the Belmont Stakes.  This idiot could’ve won a cool $156 off the 50-cent trifecta, but chose Gormley, the fourth-place finisher, instead.

Stupid.  Stupid.  Stupid.  I deserve this misery.

Such an incredibly slow group of 3 year olds this year.
