LSU got blown out again last night and sits at 1-7 in the conference. Johnny Jones still has a job. I could win more games at LSU than that man.

Correct RealMe and Jay, and Blakeney was after McGee left U of L. He and his dad had hookers in their hotel room, and it was after McGee left for a job in Colorado.

I have read the book. Also, the Blakeney incident happened after McGee left and there is a money paper trail for his incident (a wire transfer). Clearly there were more people involved than just McGee. That is pretty indisputable at this point.

How does U of L explain McGee arranging this crap for Antonio Blakeney after he left U of L??? There had to have been someone else involved.

Also, according to Rick, McGee is extremely cheap. There is no way McGee payed for all this himself. The money came from elsewhere. This is not one rogue coach.

Can I start a conversation I may regret? I don’t understand why concealed carry requires a permit in some states, but open carry is fine. I’m much more concerned by someone walking around with guns on display than someone who has it put away and I don’t even know they’re carrying. Why isn’t it, if you carry a gun, get a permit, concealed or not?

    • J-Dub421
      10:47 am January 26, 2017 Permalink

You have to pass tests to get a driver’s license, you need a license to get married or own and operate a restaurant, you have to have a license to sell alcohol. You should have to take a safety training course and pass a test, and get a license to own a gun.

    • runningunnin.454

Yeah, I know it will fan some flames, but it never made sense why law abiding gun enthusiasts have such a strong aversion to some kind of background check at a gun show? Just seems logical to me. Yeah, I know it would be an inconvenience to not be able to just plunk down cash and walk home with a gun that you purchased, but seems like it is a huge hole in the system. If I’m off base, please educate me – politely, if you don’t mind. πŸ˜‰

rg, Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws in the country, but the crime rate continues to climb. I believe most of the criminals are getting theirs from nearby states with weaker laws.

    • CATandMONKEY
      10:54 am January 26, 2017 Permalink

“…The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

The Bill of Rights actually delineates this specific right. Driving, running a restaurant, selling alcohol are all rights to be determined by the states and are not necessarily protected by the Federal Government.

    • ukjaybrat
      10:55 am January 26, 2017 Permalink

Because if your gun is out on your hip, it is obvious and you can be deterred from entering someone’s establishment where they don’t allow guns.

If your’re hiding it, you can just waltz right in without anyone knowing any better.

If you abuse that right, you will lose your concealed carry and endanger your right to carry a firearm altogether. if im not mistaken. so it’s not worth it to get a concealed carry and then carry it into somewhere you’re not allowed to.

You also have to have a license to hunt/fish. I’m a big 2nd Amendment supporter; but, I have no problem with the permit requirement….there should be training and confirmation of responsibility and proficiency.

    • Matt is so willingly naive. It’s not just a matter of whether someone tries to ban ALL guns (which Obama did want to do IMO…he just couldn’t get it through Congress…see also Diane Feinstein’s famous “Mr and Miss America, turn them in’ statement). He was CONSTANTLY writing executive orders banning certain ammo, banning the import of M1 Garands from Korea, driving our only lead smelting plant out of business, greenies using environmental regulations to ban lead, declare that a gunsmith is a gun dealer and must buy an FFL, and many more. ALL this is an infringement, and it is designed to, in part, drive up the cost of owning guns and thus making it harder for folks like me to own them.

After all, pro-gunners will stress “Practice all the time! Know how to use a gun properly!” How can you do that if ammo prices go through the roof?

      Rant over…for now. πŸ˜‰

At this point simple ownership requires no permit. If I am to carry loaded I can see that side. I choose not to carry loaded. Fishing and hunting permits do not in any way guarantee proficiency. I was raised by a hunter safety instructor/ Master class competitive shooter who is big on safety and responsibility. Despite having 30+ firearms in the house vrowing up I would never have dreamed of mis-using them.
But not everyone is raised that way. It is the people who don’t know and respect firearms that concern me so I am definitely seeing your point

    • The problem with permits & background checks is this:
      https://www.americas1stfreedom.org/articles/2016/3/24/where-the-atf-scans-gun-sales-records/

In short, you give the gov’t an inch, they take 1000 miles…the ATF has tried to create a national gun registry even though it’s against the law. The gov’t often abuses their position.

OK, sorry, but now I have to get REAL political. I cannot understand how anyone who is worried about the government abusing their position NOT being concerned about the way Trump is trying to control EVERYTHING – especially the press. I’m sorry, but it reminds me of the kind of stuff Kim Jong Un does in North Korea. Come to think of it, Kim Jong Un has a similar disposition in reacting like a 4-year-old whenever someone is critical of him. I didn’t vote for Trump, and I sure didn’t vote for Hillary either, but I was holding out hope that Trump would do some things that benefit the country as a whole now that he is in office. That still might happen, but this first week has given me an uneasy feeling.

In many areas, we are already there, and it’s pretty tragic if you ask me. I guess the genie is out of the bottle, and I don’t know if it can be put back in.
