So thoughts on Matt V.S. Mitch? I’m only interested if it gets booked in a solid Steel Cage.

I just hope we get lots of Ryan doing impersonations.

    • JerryDamage
      10:19 am March 27, 2018 Permalink

      Oh I think that’s a given.

My worry is that if it is Matt V.S. Mitch, it won’t be easy. I do think Matt is correct about the equal time and it being in his favor. But I also think that Mitch would fight that just to cause trouble with Matt.

My other concern for Matt is fundraising. Mitch will crush him in that and that worries me as far as Matt having any chance.

I am a huge KSR fan. I’ve listened every single day for over 7 years. I’ve been to several live remotes and even got to go in studio once with Matt and Ryan. But unless something can change my mind, I won’t vote for Matt. I understand this if it is his decision and hope that if he doesn’t win that the show doesn’t suffer in the long run for it.

Would the lack of fundraising by Matt mean that the ads on KSR will get even more obnoxious? If so, then please DON’T run, Matt!

I’d say everyone will spend some time in the G-League next season. I don’t think we have one person who will spend the entire season playing for an NBA team. We have guys who will but I’d imagine they all will go down for a little bit over the course of the year.

    • ukjaybrat
      10:12 am March 27, 2018 Permalink

if i had to put money on it, i would agree with this. but i think Vanderbilt has the potential to be a star. it’s just the uncertainty on his injuries that will prevent someone from drafting him at this time. If he comes back next year and plays every game at a high level (minus a clunker here or there) he could be a lottery pick)

    • Rabbi Li
      10:18 am March 27, 2018 Permalink

JerryDamage – D-League is about lack of ‘talent’ or ‘work ethic.’

If a player finds themselves there… they lack one of the 2. There is a rare case when a team over-drafted a position (some are legitimate decisions for trade buiding and others are just inefficient incompetence).

Until Diallo realizes that he’s not that good without the work ethic of a SGA, he will be a D-League poster boy.

Knox will need to learn how to pass at the next level. He has the work ethic and talent… he just needs to learn how to pass.

    • ukjaybrat

and they all (except sga) need to learn how to defend at a high level)

Rabbi, we’ll agree to disagree since you can’t even get the name of it right. G-League. D-League is something non-existant….like UofL’s title.

JerryDamage beat me to it. Rabbi Li, your repeated use of “D-league” tells me you don’t even watch the NBA, much less the G-league. It’s not about lack of talent or effort now. More often than not, it’s the guys who got drafted on potential and they just need the everyday playing time they can’t get if they remain on the NBA roster.

SKJ has a chance (with a serious off season program) to prepare himself as a 20 minute player as a Jr, and then with another strong offseason in 2019 as a starting Sr. (a go to team leader on the block).

I would really hate to see Wenyen go. He is one of my favorites on the team. But if he feels like now is the time, and he need to help provide for his family, then I sure can’t blame him. I wish they would move that idea of the NBA loan further along. I do recall him saying that his sister and him would be the first members of their family to get college degrees, so I know that is important to him.

Quickley won’t shoot much, Calipari PGs don’t shoot much. The only PG we’ve had that shot was Ulis, but that’s because he was to small to drive consistently

You really thing Sasha is going to leave? He seemed to have a real breakthrough moment late in the season. Unless it’s a push-out-the-door thing to make room for commits, I can’t see him leaving. And I can’t see Cal pushing a kid out the door against his will to make room for another.

Pulling for Michigan this weekend, want watch if the weather is good but i do like their coach. Had a lot to say because haven’t had a chance to get on here for a while. I agree. Someone yesterday said it best. Kevin may not know he’s leaving yet, but he’ll be convinced to do so before all is said and done. By Cal or by NBA reps. I’d love to be wrong though.

  15. Laker Cat 18

    SGA & Knox “should” go.

    Green & Washington “should” stay.

I’m torn on Vanderbilt. He can’t shoot well enough, but he’s injury-prone so I would probably lean more toward going. Reminds me of an MKG. Not an all-star, but a good solid role player at the next level.

Diallo should stay, but he will probably go. I remember scouts salivating over him last year, so someone will probably take a chance on him.

I’m somewhat torn on Gabriel as well. I think he should stay, but I’m really not sure how much higher his stock will be than this year after his SEC tournament hot streak. I don’t think we will see that again from him in that capacity. I hope he returns though!

SKJ should stay obviously, but I’m proud of him. He improved greatly this season. Looking forward to his future AS A CAT.

Richards… Take a seat my man. Hit the gym and get tougher. I’m hoping to see a similar transition from him as we saw with SKJ.
