Tai Wynyard Wins MVP at U18 3×3 Tournament

Tai-Wynyard-1200Tai Wynyard showed exactly why Kentucky fans should be excited about his commitment over the weekend. He helped lead New Zealand to the gold medal in the U18 3×3 Tournament, winning MVP along the way.

Wynyard and New Zealand defeated Argentina today 20-18 in the finals held in Hungary. The future Cat scored eight of the 20 points and was the second-leading scorer for the tournament.

Chris Fisher of 247Sports tweeted out “Wynyard was dominant inside with his back to the basket but also hit two mid-range jumpers and came up with two big blocks in the final.” That’s encouraging to hear as a Kentucky fan knowing he will join the squad either late this season or as part of the class of 2016.
