Swimming pools, Kentucky Kingdom to open June 29

Swimming pools were not going to open in 2020, but Governor Andy Beshear relaxed his stance and today he announced pools can open next month.

June 29 is the day when your local pool might open for public swimming, the governor and his new haircut announced on Thursday. The decisions will come down to local leaders, so this news doesn’t necessarily mean your local pool will open. It does, however, give municipalities the option to open up for swimming to raise much-needed revenue at the local level.

Governor Beshear also announced June 29 as the day Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville will open for business to those who are eager to ride T3.

One other piece of reopening news is all state parks will open on June 1.

A politician tells us when we can swim. Sounds legit (like Venezuela/NK/China/USSR)

He relaxed the rules because many were getting fed up with him. Pools should be open now. Governor should be Andy, not Adolf.
It’s obvious many of his rules are about control, not safety.

Strictly no peeing in the poll by state mandate. We can’t be doing that.
