Good morning BBN! There’s only 4 days until Thanksgiving left, so if you haven’t bought your turkey and stuffing, you better get on that. Kentucky fans all over the world have a lot to be thankful for, including (but not limited to) last night’s win over Charlotte, John Calipari, and Makayla Epps’ triple double a couple of nights ago. Most of all, we can be thankful that we aren’t Louisville fans, right?
Here’s today’s news…
Cats win, 58-10.
It was freezing cold, snowing, and the crowd wasn’t all that great, but after five straight losses, Kentucky rebounded against Charlotte to kick off the Drew Barker era. Speaking of the former KSR blogger, Barker went 16-29 for 129 yds. JoJo Kemp and Boom were certainly the stars of the game. JoJo ran for 165 and 3 TDs, while Boom went for 140 yards and 2 TDs. There will be more in-depth discussion about the game later on throughout the day, but we have to talk about C.J. Johnson’s interception.
Does he have to be a senior? Can’t we keep him for a little while longer?
Your Kentucky Wildcats will be the number one team in the nation.
ICYMI, North Carolina, the current #1 team in the country, was upset by Northern Iowa yesterday afternoon, 71-67. Thanks for keeping the seat warm for us Tarheels, now move aside…we plan to be here a while.
Former Cats balled out in the Kings’ win vs. the Orlando Magic, 97-91.
Last night, Kings’ coach George Karl said that Boogie was the most dominant player on the court. Cousins had a huge game and recorded his 4th straight 20 point/10 rebound double-double with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots. Rondo tallied 13 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds, while WCS got 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
John Wall’s shoe deal is up.
According to the Washington Post, J-Wall is currently playing without a shoe contract. His contract with Adidas expired on September 30th, leaving him with the ability to sign with another company. #TeamNike
The UK Hoops take on Colorado this afternoon at 2.
Haley and I will be at Memorial live-tweeting all the action. After coming off the game against Morehead State where three UK players tallied double-doubles, including Makayla Epps’ triple-double, expect some exciting action tonight on SECNetwork+. If you are in the Lexington area and want to catch the game in-person, you can bring a canned food item to the game for the Hoops’ “Thanks for Giving” promotion and get a $2.00 general admission ticket to today’s game. Stay tuned for updates from Memorial later today.
