Sunday Morning Wake Up

Screen Shot 2015-10-02 at 2.54.40 PM

Psst Willie it’s time to wake up! That’s right everyone today’s morning wake up is brought to you by the Sacramento Kings and Willie Cauley-Stein sleeping. I know most people might have lost a year or two off our lives from last night’s game, but let’s get into Sunday.

Set Your Lineups

Just a friendly reminder the first NFL game today kicks off at 9:30 Eastern because the Jets and Dolphins are playing in London. Also a friendly reminder, no one cares about your fantasy team, but set your lineup. Let’s take a quick minute to talk about how dumb it is the NFL plays in London. This counts as a home game for a team each year, taking away true home field advantage and making players get out of their routine. London is a five hour time different from the east coast, so most players will have to take sleeping pills to fall asleep at a normal time.

UK Wasn’t the Only One

Believe it or not but Kentucky wasn’t the only team to struggle yesterday. No. 1 Ohio State had to rally to beat Indiana yesterday while No. 2 Michigan State had to hold off Purdue despite being up 21-0 at halftime. Catch that Big 10 action, folks.

Props to Boom

Look, no one knows why Boom wasn’t playing yesterday, but I do want to give props to Williams for being on the sidelines and celebrating like a little kid with his teammates. He’s sure to catch some heat from the comment section, but Boom did what he was supposed to, which was supporting his team.

You forgot to add Alabama barely getting past Georgia..

Love Boom. Love his talent, love his passion, love the maturation process he’s been going through. And one day, I have no doubt that he will be one of those Wildcats we look back on as a “legend” at UK. But it’s not about doing what you are supposed to. Players should want to. If not for the University or the fans, for their brothers out there on the field. That is what has to develop, that brotherhood. Hopefully doing what he’s supposed to will help translate into want to at some point.

I must have missed it but why did Austin MacGinnis not play? While on the topic of kickers what the hey is up with Foster? He couldn’t kick a whore out of church!

Struggling and still pulling one out is a good sign. Our basketball team did it last year against Texas AM, Georgia, ole miss at Rupp. Footballers did it last night. Remember, we were down 14 in 4th, and won. This is a team that obviously plays up or down to its competition.

Three years ago we were losing to WKU and getting rolled by Vandy. Now, we are 4 points against a very good Florida team from being undefeated. UK football fans should be ecstatic.

We will beat Auburn. We will beat Charolette and Vandy and DuhVille. Do that and we have 8 wins. I also think we will be competitive against UT and MSU

Let’s rock CW on that Thursday night game.

    Go Cats!

Those other games are not comparable to UK-EKU. The others are all BCS vs. BCS, but our game wasn’t. And Bama vs UGA was two ranked teams. Face the facts, Eastern came ready to play and the Cats didn’t. I’m betting this will get their attention pre-Auburn, tho.

This game was nearly the perfect storm for EKU to pull off the shocker. It basically fit the definition of a trap game – UK was coming off of a big win against a ranked team, and all week the players were hearing how good they were against Mizzou, and looking forward to a nationally televised game against Auburn that suddenly looked much more winnable. They were also hearing their coach basically publicly stating that he expected a big win for his second string to get in and play. Meanwhile, EKU had a lot of festering angst built up from the summer incidents, and they gained additional inspiration to play for their fallen teammate. Add to all this the fact that EKU has some high quality playmakers on their team, including an ex-UK RB who wants to show his former team how good he is, and an ex-All-Big10 defensive end who used to play for OSU. Folks, this EKU team is pretty good, in spite of the kllunker they threw in against NC St. Hopefully UK will learn some valuable lessons from this close call.

Is nice to see at least one uk fan give credit where credit is due. I watched this game on line as I am out of state, this team looked like it was on a mission, just like Roy Kidd’s championship teams ( teams uk fans never gave credit too and were were most likeky the best teams in the state). I hope that thisis awake up call to the Colonels, play like champions, okay with heart and you can achieve what most think is the impossible. Great line play last night from EKU, best game I have seen Coney play ever.
UK? Just my opinion, give your QB a break, he orchestrated the last three scores that gave you the win.

Yeah EKU played with heart and passion, and I think some of that is due to the recent tragedy. They were out there playing for their brother, and UK wasn’t ready. They thought it would be an easy game. And yeah give Towles a break everybody. He makes mistakes(like you don’t), but he won the game. Without him, we would have gotten embarrassed

EKU absolutely outplayed us and most importantly out coached UK. Their defense absolutely looked like the 84 bears knocking the slobber out of UK. They must have forgot we had the best Defensive coach in the country. Lol

“best team in the state” lmfao dude. A team built on players that weren’t good enough to play at UK, UL, and WKU? haha

Towels didn’t play any better in the 4th quarter, his receivers did. His throws were just as inaccurate as ever, but the receivers actually dove, jumped, and grabbed for the ball.

Towels thinks he is NFL material and he’s not even SEC material. He needs to stop worrying about his hair and worry about his accuracy and taking so many bad sacks. I just can’t imagine how bad Barker must be if the coaches won’t even give him a look. Hopefully Barker is just still in the doghouse big time due to all his off field issues and it’s not because he is not as good as Towels.

InsideInfo, that fade that Towles threw to Baker for the tying TD could not have been thrown much better tgan that. That play was executed to perfection. Yes, Towles made plenty of mistakes, many of them inexcusable for a redshirt junior, but you need to give credit where it is due or your

First, learn to type. Second, run on sentences are not your friend in making points. Grammar can be your friend if you are willing to try. Third, despite the problems that have been identified every internet UK football coach, we are 4-1. Gripe and complain how the present is like exactly like the past that every internet UK football coach has coached their way through, yet we are 4-1, 2-1 in the SEC. Asking patience of the internet UK football coaches is like asking the sun to not come up, so there is no point. Saying that we stand a chance of being bowl eligible will simply bring those internet UK football coaches out who say that playing in the Music City Bowl is beneath UK, that we should be playing in the Sugar Bowl or Cotton Bowl, despite not playing in those bowls for over sixty years. The only thing I can suggest for the internet UK football coaches is that they wait for basketball. 4 and 1, not 3 and 2.

We could use the coaching help with it comes to Cal’s abilities. I have to wonder if his coaching techniques will catch up to his recruiting. Looks good on paper, but not worth a penny if you can’t coach them. Just sayin’ bros.

Notice Marshall Henderson in the background? Typical Kings. I guess they hold that Qatar competition in high regard.
