The Sunday morning wake up is brought to you today by Marcus Lee. Why? Because he had yet another quiet good game yesterday against Louisville. As Alex Poythress, Tyler Ulis and Dom are grabbing the headlines (rightfully so) I want to make sure Lee gets his respect. The fact he never picked up that fifth foul while still playing great defense and grabbing rebounds was a major factor in Kentucky getting the win yesterday.
God, it feels good to beat Louisville again. On to Sunday:
It’s crazy we’re already in week 16 of the NFL season, but here we are. We have some former Cats in big games this week so make sure to check them out. The big games on the schedule are:
Carolina at Atlanta (Jacob Tamme) – 1:00, FOX
Pittsburgh (Bud Dupree) at Baltimore (Chris Matthews, Za’Darius Smith) – 1:00, CBS
Houston at Tennessee (Wesley Woodyard, Avery Williamson) – 1:00, CBS
Green Bay (Tim Masthay, Randall Cobb) at Arizona – 4:25, FOX
Kentucky’s West Coast Team in Action
It’s a slow day for teams on campus as there’s nothing on the schedule, but Drew’s favorite team is in action tonight. The Sacramento Kings with Boogie, Rondo and an injured Willie are playing tonight at 9 against Portland. Since we’re talking the NBA, of course there are more former Kentucky guys in action as Julius Randle takes on Tayshaun Prince while James Young and Enes Kanter are also playing today.
Too Great Not to Watch Again
Alex Poythress has caught a good amount of heat during his 3+ years so far in Lexington. The McDonald’s All-American came into college with a ton of fan fare and many expected him to be a one-and-done star. Obviously it hasn’t been that way and while his play has been inconsistent, he’s been extremely valuable to his teams. He’s also become one of the most fun players to watch because he’s a walking highlight. Let’s all watch this on loop and have a Sunday.
