If you think you are excited for football season, imagine how pumped Za’Darius Smith must be. We are now less than a week away from the showdown with Western Kentucky. That means less than a week until Bud Dupree and Za’Darius Smith give Petrino and the Hilltoppers nightmares with sacks and run stops.

Here’s your Sunday morning reading material

– Lost in all of the news yesterday was some good signs for Calipari with California SF Stanley Johnson. Steve Jones of the Courier Journal spoke with Johnson who gave glowing reviews of what he thinks of Kentucky.

– Max Godby will not have to be worrying about tuition at UK anymore. Stoops offered the former walk on a scholarship after years of hard work. Jenn Smith of the Herald Leader gives the full story of his long road to success.

– Kyle Wiltjer now knows who his point guard will be at Gonzaga next season. One time UK target, Josh Perkins, selected Gonzaga over UCLA yesterday on a local Denver news channel. Perkins waited for UK offer, but did not wait any longer after the offer to Tyler Ulis became public.

-Julius Mays made a stop in Lexington before he departs for Italy to play pro basketball. He gave some insight into what he thought of Randle, Hawkins, and Lee after he played some pick up games with the freshmen.
