Sunday Morning Links

Good morning, friends.

As we enter another Sunday morning following a loss to Florida football, here are some links to distract us from this familiar disappointing feeling that’s plagued us for the past 29 years.

– 1991 Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard doesn’t think Jim McElwein should have been on the sidelines last night after his week one explosion toward running back Kelvin Taylor. Sadly, I don’t think this would have affected our decision to call 5000 run plays.

– The 24th ranked UK Volleyball team will host Louisville this evening at 2 PM in the team’s last game of the nonconference schedule. It’s never a bad day to beat the Cards; get ‘em girls.

– Next week’s opponent, the Missouri Tigers, suffered a scare from the UConn Huskies yesterday. The Tigers trailed 2-6 for much of the game, but were able to escape their home field with a riveting 9-6 victory. A win next week is certainly obtainable, and would be a nice consolation after last night’s loss.

– Randall Cobb is planning to play tonight’s game against Seattle. Cobb injured his shoulder and as limited in practice at the end of the week, but looks like he will press on against Richard Sherman and last year’s should-have-been Superbowl Champs.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned throughout the day for news and stuff.

What is Stoop’s record against Power 5 teams? 2 wins over S.Carolina and 1 over Vandy?

Do we think all of the run plays could’ve been called due to:

    1. The defense being on the field too much last week so the offense needed to be on the field more this week

    2. Towels terrible (more than normal) “accuracy” in passing last night?

It could be because our offensive line looked like a sieve for the better part of 3 quarters.

Our receivers are physically talented but they need to develop the resolve to finish plays. They shy away from overpowering the DBs and need to adjust their bodies when the ball is in the air. Dropped passes in potentially big early-game situations are deflating,
