Stevie Johnson Will Miss the 2016 Season

A torn meniscus will force former Wildcat wide receiver Stevie Johnson to miss the 2016 season, according to Ian Rapoport.

The San Diego Charger had successful surgery yesterday to repair the right knee he injured in training camp.  Many meniscus injuries can be rehabilitated in 6-8 weeks, but Johnson discovered after surgery it will require him to miss the entire season.

Last year was Johnson’s first season in San Diego, catching 45 passes for 497 yards and 3 touchdowns.  After eight years in the NFL, he’s gained 4,746 yards and caught 34 touchdowns.  Most of that came in Buffalo from 2010-2012, hauling in 23 touchdowns in three consecutive 1,000+ yard seasons.

Here’s to hoping we’ll see Stevie get loose once again in 2017.
