When he wasn’t sitting ringside at the Mayweather-Alvarez fight in Vegas this past weekend, John Calipari was busy making a good impression on 2015 center Stephen Zimmerman. Cal visited Zimmerman and his family at their home in Vegas, and Rivals’ #2 prospect in this 2015 class told Corey Albertson it was an honor to host him:
“It was a huge honor to have Coach Calipari come and meet with me,” Zimmerman told Cats Illustrated. “He’s a really cool guy and I liked what he had to say. He made a good impression on my parents as well. The main thing that he was saying is that he hopes that I want to be a part of Kentucky as much as they want me to be a part of Kentucky.”
Zimmerman’s got a lot of schools on his list, including Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona, UNLV, Baylor and USC, but he can’t help but gush about the Cats:
“Kentucky is a definite option for me,” said Zimmerman. “It’s an amazing place with a great history that won a championship recently. I plan on eventually taking a visit there, but I don’t know when that will be.”
Speaking of Vegas, I’m off to enjoy Sin City for the rest of the bye week. See you on Monday…maybe.
