St. X Grad Justin Thomas wins the PGA Championship

Justin Thomas, a Louisville native and St.Xavier alumni, finished at 3 under today and 8 under for the weekend to secure the first major championship of his career.

Watch Thomas finish out the 18th hole at Quail Hollow:

Thomas is the first major winner from the state of Kentucky since Gay Brewer won the Masters back in 1967.

    Bobby Nichols, also from Louisville, also from St. X, won the PGA in 1968.

    I was wrong. Nichols won it in 1964. Brewer was the last Kentuckian to claim a major. Thanks to the poster whose correction, which I now can’t see, pointed that out,

    And he hates UK. And he worships the cheating birds. And he and his parents and grandparents were a terror for Kentucky Junior Golf and those people that ran it. Inconsiderate people shouldn’t be rewarded. Root against him and feel good about it. He’s a punk and hasn’t grown out of it. And he hates UK.
