Spring evaluation period begins

John Calipari and Kenny Payne have already hit the road this week, conducting visits with multiple prospects spanning the 2015 and 2016 classes.

But with a new NCAA recruiting rule in place, the first and only spring evaluation period begins Friday evening, which most likely means a very busy weekend for the Kentucky coaching staff, who will be criss-crossing the country scouting the Wildcats’ top targets for 2015 and beyond.

Events this weekend include the first stop on the Nike EYBL circuit in Sacramento, the Pittsburgh Jam Fest and the adidas Guantlet in Dallas.

Because the UK staff has such a limited time to evaluate prospects in the spring, this weekend should go a long way in revealing Kentucky’s top priorities. takes a look at whom the UK staff will likely have their eye on this weekend [FREE]

If Slice is to become a UK assistant, then why isn’t he already on board so he can be out recruiting with Cal?
