Speedy 3-star WR Jeremiah Dillon picks Ole Miss over Kentucky

It was a wild ride until the last second, but Jeremiah Dillon is heading to Ole Miss.

A three-star wide receiver from Tylertown, Mississippi, Dillon chose the Rebels over the likes of Kentucky, Virginia, and Memphis. Up until Sunday, there was a strong belief that he would end up in a Wildcat uniform, but recruiting experts had a change of tune throughout the day as predictions began to swing in favor of Ole Miss. In the end, the speedy pass-catcher went with Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss over Liam Coen’s pitch.

Dillon isn’t the most highly-rated prospect, but he possesses incredible speed that you just can’t coach. Many believed he would eventually outperform his low three-star ranking. He ran a personal record 10.53-second 100-meter dash as a junior and later finished second in the Mississippi 3A State 100-meter dash with a time of 10.66 seconds. Dillon would have been a nice fit for what Coen wants to install in the passing game, but it’s now onto the next one for the staff.

Ole Miss is after some big fishes at the WR position. He’s the type of recruit who may be available later in the cycle depending how their board shakes out.

Excellent point. Sumrall will keep in touch and try and get him flip if he is over-recruited.

Is this the guy who y’all posted yesterday that didn’t even put UK in his tweet with all those schools?

Yep. He didn’t even put us in his tweet of the finalists, what made y’all think UK even had a shot?

Our alternate logo was just in the bottom left corner of the tweet you’re talking about. You brought up the same thing yesterday and I almost commented.

Really? I thought that may have been it but it was partially blocked by some graphic.

Also, we really need to get rid of that logo!

That is South Alabama logo. So he either mixed it up or didn’t have the cats in his final.

That is the South Alabama Jaguars logo. So yeah, the Cats logo did NOT make his tweet. My guess is that the fact that we engaged him late in the game that he knew we weren’t a contender. Kiffin is also known to throw the ball and has already proved it at Ole Miss, whereas Coen hasn’t been able to prove that yet. Maybe if Wan’Dale gets a lot of touches this year, makes a huge impact, and then gets drafted then we may have a shot to revisit this kid and persuade him otherwise. We can’t give up on these kids just because of a verbal.

When someone pointed out that it looked like two birds getting it on…I couldn’t unsee it. So subjectively I agree. I think it looks better than the Nikefied UK logo though. 100% subjectively-and I’m not of that era to be clear-I’m a huge fan of the power K.

Makes sense why he chose ole miss because he has already knows what their offense looks like. Coen is still an umproven commodity at the college level and no one knows how our offense will look like till we start playing games and winning them. All they know is we have a great offensive line and besides Wandale and Ali, rest of the wide receiver group is suspect.

It’s always going to hurt a little bit when you’re not sure who’s going to be throwing the football going into fall camp. I’m sure other factors played a bigger role but it certainly doesn’t help. If Coen turns the offense around and one of these QBs step up and solidifies himself for the next year or two, we might be reeling in some 4 stars at WR next year.

Agreed. It’d be nice for them to get 1 under-the-radar streaker to compliment Ali and Wandale. I like their ability to stretch the field laterally. We just need 1 over performing streaker/jump ball guy to help open up underneath. I’d really like to know more about the Morgan guy from Mich St. He has the size to be that guy. Of course that is all dependent on having a QB that delivers consistently.

I don’t think who starts at QB had anything to do with his decision. He has another year of HS and most likely a college redshirt year.
I think he’s a Miss kid that knows Ole Miss throws the ball. We are unproven in that area.

What on earth is going on in this picture? Gold rope, shark jaws softball bat??

Gold shark chain is the turnover chain for the defense. The mascot is a land shark and the defense nicknames is the land shark defense. The bat is used for two sport athletes who are also being recruited to play for Ole Miss baseball. A top 10 tram that currently has 3 dual sport players on the football and baseball team.
