Skyy Clark says he’s not reclassifying to 2021

Kentucky targeted Skyy Clark early and often. The Wildcats may have to wait longer than expected to receive a commitment from the highly sought after swingman.

A day after Skyy Clark revealed his eight finalists, he told David Sisk of Cats Illustrated and the Sources Say Podcast that he has no plans on reclassifying into the 2021 class. He’s currently ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 13 player overall and the third-ranked combo guard in the 2022 recruiting class.

John Calipari has not yet received a commitment from any 2021 recruits. If Clark does not move up, Jaden Hardy and Kennedy Chandler are the only 2021 backcourt players currently with UK offers.

With all of that being said, every prospect that reclassifies only does it after insisting for months that they will not reclassify. I won’t believe Clark is staying in 2022 until the 2021 school year begins and Clark is still in high school.

If we’re worried about getting the #13 player in the class on campus a year early we’ve got problems. I can remember when a guy like this would be the 3rd or 4th best player in our class, without sacrificing an extra year of body development just to get him on campus early. I don’t think our trend of getting guys to reclassify bodes well for the program.

    I trust Cal and company.
Think of the current roster. We will lose Clarke, Boston and Mintz.
Askew will likely be here along with Allen and Fletcher as wings.
Cal will likely go the grad transfer route again

Is This for the men’s team? With a name like Sky you can’t be too sure.

To me it makes sense, why reclassifying have your season possibly screwed up with this virus crap. I get it…enjoy High school, get bigger, stronger, faster, taller..Just sit back and chill, work out wait for it all to go away see you in 2022!
