Skyy Clark coming to King of the Bluegrass tournament

One of Kentucky’s top targets on the high school recruiting trail will be playing in Kentucky later this year.

Skyy Clark, the five-star guard who recently earned a scholarship offer from John Calipari, is one of many young basketball stars whose high school team will participate in the King of the Bluegrass tournament. Jason Frakes over at the Courier-Journal has a story on the entire field, which includes Clark and his Brentwood Academy teammates.

Brentwood is one of only two non-Kentucky teams; the other is Dorman, a back-to-back-to-back-to-back state champion in South Carolina. They sound good. The Kentucky teams are Ballard, Bowling Green, Covington Catholic, Eastern, Elizabethtown, Fairdale, Highlands, Male, Marshall County, Martin County, North Laurel, Oldham County, Spencer County and Trinity. That bunch includes four region champs from last year and individual stars such as Zion Harmon, Trey James and Reed Sheppard.

The 2020 King of the Bluegrass is set for December 18-22 at Fairdale High School. The tournament’s bracket and schedule of games will be released closer to tip-off.
