Good morning, all. Let’s begin with a shout out to Sim Bhullar, the 7’5” center who became (assuming he makes the final roster) the tallest active player in the NBA yesterday when he signed with the Sacramento Kings. Apparently Sim is also the first player of Indian descent to be signed by the league – something the Kings hope will help them expand their brand in the country. The more Boogie fans, the better.
– In case you missed it, North Carolina (a projected top 10 team) lost a close one to the Providence Storm yesterday – a squad who was beaten by Ohio State by more than 50 points. Here’s the national media’s attempt to spin it.
– NBC Sports also has a recap of UK’s game yesterday, albeit a much shorter one.
– Former Cat Nerlens Noel credits another former Cat in helping with his recovery from a torn ACL. Rajon Rondo suffered the same injury a couple of years back and apparently has been a huge help to Nerlens in his recovery process. Cool read.
– The launch of the SEC network means increased exposure for a lot of teams. The UK Volleyball team will benefit from this increase, as 27 of their games will be broadcast on the network this upcoming season. Get em, girls.
