Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s New Mixtape is Worth Your Time

Future Kentucky point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the least known of UK’s five commits.  This two-minute video should help you get to know him.

The four-star combo guard isn’t flashy, but he’s smooth.  An exceptional ball-handler, you’ll notice his knack for the ball on defense and ability to finish with a soft floater near the rim.

    Looking good!…..
But I think Shai epitomizes Kentucky’s biggest problem. These guys coming in are typically so darn skinny and barely look like they could bench 135 lbs. (ala Monk and Fox). Guys who have been in a collegiate program for a few years usually pack on 10-15+ lbs a muscle a year with diet, supplements, and other forms of strength training. Therefore, even the most talented freshmen are generally pushed around in college by the older and more physical teams composed of grown men who have hit the weights hard.
