Shai Gilgeous-Alexander traded to Oklahoma City to make room for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George

One of the craziest moves in NBA history is at the expense of a Kentucky Wildcat.

After almost a week of consideration, Kawhi Leonard will give the NBA balance. Instead of creating a superteam with LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ Lakers, he’s made one that will rival them in their own city.

After LeBron pulled strings to get Anthony Davis to LA, Leonard made a massive move to team up with Paul George in LA. To acquire George from Oklahoma City, Woj reports the Clippers traded Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Galinari and five first round picks.

The move has given the city of Los Angeles the two Finals frontrunners. To make it happen, Gilgeous-Alexander must pack his bags and learn to play alongside Russell Westbrook. An All-Rookie second team selection, SGA’s future is not quite as bright in Oklahoma City.

I get that it is “just business”, but the Clippers gave away a boatload.

There’s a real chance that the Thunder blows it up and trades Rus for bad contracts and picks to rebuild and clear up cap space for the future.

That would be the smart move imo.

This is what I was thinking. It is a great way for OKC to build a new team … but I yesterday I was thinking that for the Clippers It will be interesting to see how well this works out for the Clippers.

BTW, who is their PG now if Shai isn’t distributing the ball to those guys?

Think Patrick beverly will be it, don’t think he got traded anywhere along the line. George and Kawhi will probably share playmaking duties a lot of the time.

Love this for the NBA as a whole, the league and especially the West will be much more competitive. Glad Shai is at least going to another good organization.

I think Shai can play the two spot. I think it’s ok.

I don’t see Shai and Westbrook playing together, both guys need ball in their hands. Either Westbrook gets traded or Shai could be on the move again.
