Created by four UK grads who love the program and the school as much as you. Go Big Blue!
Good evening, friends. I trust everyone’s well? No complaints here, or at least, nothing Amazon Prime can’t fix. Seriously, thank God for Amazon Prime.
Things were once again quiet in the Big Blue Nation as finals week rolls on. Thankfully, Kentucky basketball never stops, so let’s start with John Calipari’s trip to the Tar Heel state…
Calipari was in North Carolina tonight to watch Brandon Ingram
With a week between games, John Calipari is doing as John Calipari does and hitting the recruiting trail. Tonight, Cal is in Kinston, North Carolina to check in on 2015 small forward Brandon Ingram. Assistants from UCLA and N.C. State are also in the house. The 4th best shooting guard in the 2015 class is down to Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, N.C. State, Duke and UCLA and will commit in the spring. Duke and UNC are currently the favorites for Ingram in 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball, which would make his commitment especially sweet.
WITN Sports caught this pic of Cal tonight. Best caption in the comments gets free KSR for life:
Dan Dakich had some more nice things to say about Kentucky
Dakich continues to be on the Kentucky train this season, telling ESPN 99.1 FM in Sioux Falls that he still believes the Cats will go undefeated. “I don’t think anything can trip them up. Calipari has everything he could want and I see them going undefeated,” Dakich said; however, he added that he doesn’t believe Cal will retire at Kentucky. “I don’t think he stays at Kentucky forever. If it happens it will come out of the blue.”
Shh. Let us enjoy this, please.
This picture has been around for a few days, but I still really like it
That’s Karl Towns’ enormous shoe, with “My brother’s keeper” and Alex Poythress’ initials on it. Several players wrote AP on their shoes in honor of Alex, including Aaron Harrison:
I hope this continues all season.
Your offensive coordinator search update…
…is that there’s still not an offensive coordinator; however, we’re hearing there’s a strong possibility the search will be wrapped up this week, possibly by Thursday. That makes total sense because Mark Stoops has agreed to come on the radio show Thursday morning to talk about the season, and I’m sure he wants to announce the hire before then to ward off questions. To add further fuel to the fire, UK pushed the closing date of the job posting back to Thursday, and other sites are reporting that Stoops has spoken to his candidates in person and is now on his way back to Lexington. Bum bum bum?
Yahtzee watch: Maurice Swain
Swain is a JUCO defensive tackle from Lagrange, Georgia, and will announce his college decision tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. ET. He’s down to Auburn, Mississippi State, and Kentucky, which is nice enough company to be in, but Swain visited UK this past weekend and it sounds like he enjoyed himself. While I think it’s safe to say that Auburn and Mississippi State are still the favorites, we’ve learned you can never count Mark Stoops out these days. Will early playing time be enough to lure the 6’5″ 300 lbs. tackle to Kentucky? We’ll find out in the morning.
Meanwhile, Marcus Lewis is still feeling the #BBN

The four-star safety also visited this past weekend and plans to announce in January after taking an official to Miami. Over the weekend, he bonded with Damien Harris, and if both pick the Cats, it will be a MAJOR boost to the program. Keep bonding, boys.
We’ll be back in the morning to entertain you and keep you up on the latest in the search for the new offensive coordinator. Until then, enjoy the latest and greatest Elf on the Shelf idea:
