UPSET-ALERT

With Florida playing below its talent level, down a pair of key players on each side of the ball, and coming off a couple of ugly games the last two weeks, combined with the fact that Kentucky is playing surprisingly well given the circumstances, will be playing in Commonwealth Stadium in front of what we expect to be a charged-up crowd, the conditions are right for the long losing streak to end. So much so that Dick Vitale, Mike Bianchi, and Kirk Herbstreit all believe there is a smell of “upset” in the air.

Of course you have been reading about it all week, we have been over why and how it could transpire, and in the end all we’re really looking for is to get better every week. After all, Florida is a nationally ranked team, and Kentucky is… Well, they’re still Kentucky.

Coach Stoops has his guys playing at a level we haven’t seen here in Lexington in a while. I know there are a lot of Negative Nancy’s around here, but tonight could be fun if you let be.

**********

Florida quarterback Tyler Murphy will try to make the most out of the injury to Jeff Driskel. And that’s saying something considering plenty of people in Gainesville never expected him to play.

— Kentucky’s pass rush and run containment will be key in tonight’s contest, and freshman Jason Hatcher will have a huge opportunity to make a mark of this program early in his career.

— It has kind of gone overlooked, but this will be the return of Joker Phillips to Commonwealth Stadium. While he won’t be the head man patrolling on the side lines, it will be interesting to see the dynamic between him and the fans.

Alligator Army has an offensive scouting report of the Wildcats, and it seems there is some concern about stopping the run.

— As a note for basketball fans: The UK Hoops team had added five additional games to its television slate this season, including home games against Central Michigan, Louisville, East Tennessee State, South Carolina, and the Rupp Arena “Pack the House” game versus Duke.

Playing @ a level we haven’t seen in a while….Western beat us and we are 1-2. Let’s aim a little higher if you don’t mind. Let’s give Stoops some time before we start having all these lofty expectations. We will not beat Florida and all this talk of it is crazy, it only makes for another Lonnnnnnnnng Sunday with the ones talking all this crazy smack back underneath their Rocks until next Saturday when it all starts all over again….

Sloppy writing Stuart. Might want to point out the additional TV games are for the hens. Most sports fans read UK hoops team as it being for the fellas

We lost to UL and WKU last year and this year, so Coach Stoops DOES have his guys playing at a level we have seen in Lexington in awhile.

    3. If you had any idea about UK athletics, which you obviously don’t. UK Hoops is what UK athletics calls the women’s team is called, and UK Basketball is the Men’s team. You are a huge sports fan it seems like to me so I just wanted to point that out.

You act like people saying there’s an “upset” in the air is good for UK.

I don’t understand where this new level is coming from? If the Offense can’t score points then cats dont have a chance. New level! Are you kidding me?

#11 that’s right. When talk of an upset reaches the national level, its on the Gators radar. We sure wont sneak up on them. I’m betting that with a little adversity of their own, the Gators are gonna be focused. UK offense hasn’t really done anything except vs. MIami OH. Better hope the D can stop Murphy, cause I don’t see the O putting up more than 10 pts.

ky fans are among the LEAST KNOWLEDGEABLE in college football. if you people even THINK we have the slightest chance in this game, you are just proving my point

  12. Oh Really?

KES – You need to go to school and bring your knowledge of punctuation up a bit.

If you think we have NO SHOT in this game then you apparently know more than the experts. I’m optimistic about our chances, so does that mean I’m unrealistic? Most of you posters so far seem to think that “unrealistic” and “optimistic” are the same thing.

BEING OPTIMISTIC IS NOT BEING UNREALISTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess if you don’t listen to KSR, or don’t read the blog (in which you write for), then yeah, Joker returning might have gone overlooked.

While I want to say #4 is right, it was only a half. Weren’t we down 27-3 in the second half?

Them “Puddy Tats” will get their arses kicked again and again and again. The whole team is pathetic and filled with a bunch of losers. 52-3 Florida.
