– In case you missed it, the good people at the SEC football media days picked Kentucky to finish sixth in the SEC East. However, Rick Bozich doesn’t think that will happen. He predicts that the Cats will beat Vandy, Mississippi State, and Florida. UK hopes to upset the Gators for the second year in a row.

– Does Kentucky still want Thon Maker? The situation is unclear. Neither Calipari or John Robic watched him play this Thursday or Friday, but the Sudanese big man still has good things to say about the program. Maker is contemplating going pro next year — so the holdout makes a bit of sense.

– New Offensive Coordinator Shannon Dawson hopes to continue the “Air Raid” scheme that Neal Brown kind of ran in the past two seasons. Dawson comes from a West Virginia team whose offense ranked 11th in the nation last year — so hopefully we’ll see some mad gains this fall.

– The Kentucky Women’s track and field team earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association yesterday. The girls (who also killed it on the track season — finishing as the national runner ups in outdoor) earned a cumulative 3.07 GPA. Way to go ladies.

Ace rip 865 cheetah……Couch to Yeast for a TD-UK to knock off Alabama. We may never see the original Mumme “Air Raid” system but it is nice that our fans like to call it that. Coach Dawson cringes when folks call his offense the “Air Raid”.

Yea I couldn’t believe they picked the cats to finish 6th! After watching last season seeing how close we were to maybe winning 7-8 games instead of just 5 with such a young team that we’d be getting a bit better praise, I know we lost bud and big z but there were games were big z didn’t really do all that much. We have a growing linebacker core while they’re not great still fast and some of our better coverage guys. And our dbs keep getting better and deeper. And our offense is looking at a break put year

Just bought an antique WWII Japanese air raid cyreen on eBay. Still works great. Will bring it to all home games and to South Carolina.

Does anyone else think its weird that we sound the Air Raid siren after scoring a TD on the ground?
