If this team gets turned around, and Stoops leaves anyways, it will be because of these jackasses. So sick of the portion of our fan base that thinks they are owed something, and that they don’t need to behave like adults.

To prove the point, last Tim Kentucky beat florida was a cold day I’m october. The home games should flip to be fair. Kentucky should play at Florida in September and Florida should play at Kentucky in October / November . That way both teams have a true home field advantage

Yep. Darryl and Chester are both examples of the extremes of our fan base, and they’re very entertaining. Nothing wrong with letting them on air. I think Darryl called Stoops because Chester challenged him to.

I love when Matt cuts a rambling nonsense / totally wrong caller off. It’s why his show is better than all the others. But I do wish he wouldn’t cut off his guests mid-sentence (on his other podcast and the tv show mostly since not a lot of guests on this show).

    • J-Dub421
      10:38 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

Matt does talk over people sometimes, but Scoob is still an idiot for trying to blame Matt for someone else being a jerk on the phone. The caller is responsible for their own words, not Matt.

    • CATandMONKEY

Matt does… it is his show. When you own it, you can do what you wish. People can choose to turn it off. The numbers say that is NOT the case. Scoobie acted like it was his radio show. His other (main) point was incorrect. I would have appreciated his call much sooner.

matt has historically cut people off for two reasons

      1) they are boring
      2) they are saying lies or just plain dumb things

he’s not going to let someone ramble on about something boring and he’s not going to let someone talk crap about someone for no good reason.

I hope Ryan’s insurance is better than mine. When I had my garden hose experience, since they found something they refused to cover anything. The scope was supposed to be covered 100% for a wellness benefit, but that magically goes away if the test does what it is supposed to do – detect something that could be a bigger problem down the road. Health insurance companies are absolutely reaming America (no pun intended). End of rant.

    • J-Dub421

Our entire healthcare system needs an overhaul. I am tired of rising costs while listening to the insurance companies whine while raking in billions in profit.

Physicians and hospitals chronically over-charge for services, then do write-offs for part of the amount owed. I am more than okay with people making money, everyone has the right to make a living. However, the level of greed and gross over-charging in some industries is completely out of hand. See the price gouging re: epipens by Mylan.

On the other hand there is also a fair amount of insurance fraud that goes on in the medical industry which drives up prices for everyone. Places like 1-800-ask-gary are a blight on the system.

    • CATandMONKEY
      11:02 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

A 30 ml multidose vial of epi costs 40-60 bucks. Add another 100 bucks for needles and syringes and you can give 100 doses for anaphylaxis.
Expiration after the first puncture of the vial and training for use of regular needles are the main issues.

    • J-Dub421
      11:07 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

The price of epipens went from a little over $100 (for a 2 pack) in 2009 to over $600 this year. That is a hefty price increase for no reason. The technology hasn’t changed. Mylan currently has a monopoly, so they charge whatever they want and people have to pay it or risk death.

I have seen hospitals charge $10.00 for 2 aspirin. I can but 1000 aspirin at Costco for $10.00 or less.

    • J-Dub421

      *buy

    • CATandMONKEY
      11:31 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

Those 10 dollar aspirin are paying for all the people, benefits and services required to run a hospital that Don’t show on your bill. I can buy food for a lot less than what it costs in a restaurant but that food pays for all the costs required to run the restaurant. The costs of a hospital make even the priciest restaurants look like running a kid’s lemonade stand.
Just the number of services and personnel required by federal law…that are not directly involved in your care…truly staggering.

    • J-Dub421
      11:45 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

And I am aware of that, but most hospitals have endowments and foundations that have reserves of money, they get grants etc. for research, fellowships to pay for doctors, rich donors building new facilities and equipment, etc.

    • RealCatsFan
      11:54 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

I work for a durable medical equipment vendor that specializes in respiratory. I can tell you in no uncertain terms that no one associated with our company is getting rich. After the last round of Medicare costs, we will be lucky to survive. We basically lost all of our Medicare business, and now the private insurers are all wanting to follow the Medicare schedule of reimbursement for equipment. On a lot of this stuff, we are sending money out the door with the cost of the supplies and the level of reimbursement we get from the insurance companies. It has come down to the point where we have no choice other than to either drop insurers like Humana and UHC, or we will have to make the customers pay out of pocket for the equipment, because frankly the reimbursement sucks and we can’t survive on that. So the poor patients get to pay higher rates for their insurance plan, higher deductibles, and they get a lower level of service for it. Go out and google the stock prices and profits for the insurance companies over the last 5 years, then tell me who is really screwing America.

The fact is that these companies plow millions into the reelection campaigns of members of both political parties. All the more reason to vote third party for me, just out of protest. The whole system is crooked.

    • J-Dub421
      12:07 pm October 18, 2016 Permalink

Oh, it’s absolutely the insurance companies. The insurance industry made (I think) 41 BILLION dollars last year. The pharmaceutical industry as well. Which is why I said the whole system needs an overhaul.

Is North Carolina still going through the process, or are they completely off the hook? It’s been so long I can’t remember. If they don’t get punished for having academically ineligible players, Everyone should be allowed to cheat.

That said, if the Cards get hammered I will not be able to keep from enjoying it, a lot.

    • J-Dub421
      11:03 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

I think the NCAA is still “investigating” but it seems like they are basically trying to figure out how to not punish UNC. I think UNC should get hammered too. They were directing players into faulty classes in order to keep them eligible. They had multiple players who absolutely would have been academically ineligible without the fake classes pulling up their GPA’s. U of L and UNC should both have many wins vacated and at least one title (2 at UNC maybe) because they played ineligible players.

    • runningunnin.454
      11:08 am October 18, 2016 Permalink

Can’t be one without the other. If both aren’t hammered, the NCAA has no moral standing or ethical basis for any future decisions.
