Now let’s talk stuff…

The Cats to hold walkthrough, fly to Alabama today.

Mark Stoops didn’t have a whole lot to say in his final media appearance of the week, but he did say he is excited about the opportunity in Tuscaloosa and worried about his team competing at a high level and getting better.

“That’s what we’ve been stressing all week is having that great attention to detail, fundamentally playing better,” he said. “Our communication needs to be better, so we’re anxious to get out there and have another great opportunity.”

I wonder if he knows Phil Steele predicts Alabama will keep Kentucky’s offense from scoring a single touchdown and will cover the 35-point spread.

A couple will get married in Tent City.

The Big Blue Madness Campout will have its first wedding when Ray Branham and Vicki Harvey tie the knot in Tent City later this evening. The couple in Tent No. 1 got their marriage license and plan to wed at 5 pm in front of their tent, among several of Big Blue Nation’s finest.

KSR will be there and I’m looking for a plus-one, so please let me know if you or anyone you know would like to be my date.

Love is a beautiful thing.

He’ll spend the weekend doing the official visit thing and there’s a chance he could pull the trigger and give his commitment to John Calipari while in town.

I was there for the first game. Believe it was against Wisconsin. Hard to believe it has been 40 years. However, I do believe that it is time for a new arena, having seen the Yum Center, Rupp just doesn’t seem the same anymore.

NO….you see landmarks in Europe that are 700 years old.We tear everything down.
I’m still upset about my Tiger Stadium.
      Long live Fenway and Wrigley.

I truly don’t understand why people are always wanting a new arena when Rupp is still getting the job done. I agree that the Yum! center is really nice, but they went from a truly run down dump in Freedom Hall to the Yum! at a ridiculous cost. Duke seems to be doing ok with their place, which is not much better than Memorial Coliseum, if it’s even better at all.

The Yum! Center is nice but I like Phillips Arena better.

Never been to Phillips, but I hear it is fantastic. My point, though, is I am going to watch my team on the court, not gaze around the arena and marvel at its wondrous beauty. They could still be playing in Memorial Coliseum and it wouldn’t bother me at all.

Rupp deserves a facelift for its birthday. More than just a minor one. They need suites, and something needs to be done to liven up the atmosphere. And can we finally retire some of the songs that they play? Really tired of sliding back to the bar hopping days of the 80’s to hear Billy Idol sing “White Wedding” while old guys hunch the railings. 😉

It would be nice to finally get a commit for the 2017 class. It is an extremely important class and a few fall decisions are crucial. Not only for next years team but for Cal’s length of time here at UK. He will not stick around much longer if the cupboard starts to become empty. With hopefully Humphries, Wynyard and Killeya-Jones back next year, another big would be great, but we need dynamic players with the ball in their hands. Trae Young and Hamidou Diallo are probably the most important. Lonnie Walker would be great too, just not seeing him in Blue and White.

That’s cute. a21CATSfan worried about recruiting. I remember the days when we used to fret over that. *pats a21CATSfan on head.

It will be okay man. Don’t think we have much to worry about when it comes to recruiting.
