Rickey Hyatt Jr. to Officially Visit for Kentucky’s Home-Opener

Campus will be a little more crowded with recruits once football season begins. It all starts with an important official visitor on opening weekend.

Three-star safety Rickey Hyatt Jr. will use his second official visit this weekend at the University of Kentucky. Hyatt is also considering Ohio State, North Carolina, Cincinnati and Michigan State, the first school he officially visited in July.

Hyatt has grown up in the shadow of Ohio State at Benny Snell’s alma mater, Westerville Central High School. An exceptional track and field athlete, Rivals ranks Hyatt Jr. as the No. 38 safety in America.

Kentucky has already landed three cornerbacks in the 2020 class, Dru Phillips, Carrington Valentine and LSU transfer Kelvin Joseph. Vito Tisdale and Hyatt Jr. are Kentucky’s top two safety options remaining in the 2020 class. An outstanding official visit will go a long way to convince Hyatt to spurn the Buckeyes and head south on I-75 to play in the SEC.

38th safety be damned. This kid is a FOOTBALL PLAYER!!! Speed, IQ, power and plays hard. Would be a huge get for the secondary and for the future of the program. He can play anywhere on the field and will have a great career in college wherever he goes. Come on down young man and help keep this train rolling.
