Rick Pitino won’t coach at St. John’s until he gets an apology from the Southern District of New York

We thought Rick Pitino was finished talking about his scandals at Louisville. Not even springtime in Greece could change Pitino.

Ostracized by the college basketball community for more than a year following his dismissal from Louisville, when Pitino’s media damage control did not work, he made the move to coach professionally in Greece. As all Pitweetos know, it’s been a pretty successful stint so far.

Some believed he spent enough time lying low to return to college basketball. UCLA can’t find a coach. Why not Pitino? There’s not much juice behind that push, but there could be some to St. John’s. After all, Pitino loves New York City and what do the Johnnies have to lose?

Adam Zagoria reached out to Rick to gauge his interest in the vacancy left by Chris Mullin at St. John’s. In a wild twist, Pitino wants nothing to do with that city.

“Tom Jurich is one of the Best ADs I’ve ever worked with n that includes the likes of Lou Lamoriello n CM Newton. Secondly neither Tom or I had anything to do with that sex scandal proven by the NCAA . As far as the Adidas situation . I had no knowledge of anything that was being done behind our backs –I would bring St. John’s to the elite level not seen since Louie (Carnesecca) roamed the sidelines . But before that could ever happen the Southern District of NY would have to apologize for ruining an innocent mans reputation by putting his name in a complaint. So good luck to my hometown University because that’s not happening.”

Hopefully that was easier to read than the screenshot shared by Zagoria.

Pitino once claimed he’d never return to the city of Louisville until “the pizza guy” resigned from the school’s board of trustees. Now that Papa John is off the board, he’s turning all of his vitriol to country’s most renowned federal court of appeals. Probably not his wisest move.

It’s a shame Pitino can’t get off his high horse. The more he brings up his past at Louisville, the less likely he lands another college basketball coaching job. Hate him or love him, college basketball is better when this character is in it.

The really sad thing about it is St. John’s would be a much better fit for him than UCLA. I’d love to see it happen.

First, I didn’t know they were cheating! Second, I didn’t know they were cheating, either. And lastly, i didn’t know those other guys were cheating too. See I’m an innocent manager who doesn’t actually manage anything. Please accept my innocence and let me pretend to manage your hundred million dollar business.

Not sure why this showed up as a reply. Was intended to be separate post.

Coach Pitino, how many members of your staff cheated while you were busy having affairs and scheduling abortions and fake marriages? Answer…. it wasn’t me!

Rick, Jussie Smollett called, said thanks for the help with his “exoneration” speech. Just passing it along.

Nick, the Southern District is not an appeals court, it’s a trial court, but yea it’s a pretty important one. Still not a great idea to pick a fight with a Court, and his beef is really w/ the US Attorney that put his name in the indictment, not the Court itself. It’s just crazy talk. Literally cuckoo bird, C-R-A-Z-Y. And the crazier he gets, the more sociopathic the lies, I’m less inclined to agre with you that college basketball is better with him in it. He’s not helping himself or the game at this stage but as an aspiring sportswriter, I get why u want him around. He’s a quote machine and a hot mess.

Am I the only one who thinks the man has lost the plot? He believes he can make SJU “elite” – so the ego is still there – but the rant about Jurich, disjointed, preposterous denial of responsibility for anything, and notion that a “court” would “apologize” to HIM of all people are butterfly net madness. He needs professional help… but I did see writing similarities w some of our Cal haters, so maybe he’s taken up trolling KSR in his spare time.

Apology from the SDNY will come for Pitino about the same time as the apology from the SDNY to Trump.

Ha! Trump is petrified of the SDNY. And rightfully so.

New York is a joke period. Why would anyone in there right mind want pitino, loserville is still under investigation for fbi then NCAA investigation all for things that were done while pitino was the coach. Pitino could get 4-5 year ban from coaching in college anywhere. He is pitiful tho he has completely lost it. Yea he can really coach Cal beat him 8 out of 10 while at UK. Time passed him by years ago.
