Rhyne Howard Named SEC Player of the Week

UK Athletics
Another day, another award for Kentucky’s Rhyne Howard.
A day after she was tabbed as ESPNW’s National Player of the Week, Kentucky’s sensational sophomore was named SEC Player of the Week. It’s the second time she’s received the recognition from the league and the tenth time in her young career.
Howard tore up the competition last week, setting a new career-high with 37 points in a victory over Tennessee. Sunday afternoon she also tied a school record by knocking down seven three-pointers against the Lady Vols. In Howard’s other outing from last week, the Cats lost to South Carolina but she still had 28 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Do yourself a favor and go watch Howard play this season in person at Memorial Coliseum. Your next opportunity is a week from Thursday against Texas A&M. This week the No. 14 Widlcats are on the road at Alabama Thursday at 8 p.m. ET and at Florida Sunday at noon.
