Do you miss sports? Me too. Luckily, we’ve got a big ole, disgusting appetizer on deck this weekend. The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest will still take place Saturday, July 4, albeit without a crowd. The contest will be held in a private location on Coney Island and only feature five eaters at a time instead of the usual 15. Contestants will be seated at a 30-foot-long table to ensure six feet of separation. The staff will wear gloves and masks and eaters will have the hot dogs in front of them to reduce interaction.
Reigning champs Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo will both participate. Chestnut has won the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest 12 times and holds the world record of 74 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Sudo has won the women’s contest six times and boasts an all-time best of 41 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, four shy of the women’s world record.
The contest will be shown at noon on ESPN. We’re so excited about it we’re bringing back the KSR NATHAN’S HOT DOG EATING CONTEST LIVE BLOG! Join me, Richmond Bramblet, Fake Barney, and other KSR personalities as we watch people stuff their faces for the Mustard Belt.
