We now have a somewhat better idea of when Reid Travis will visit Kentucky’s campus.

Last week we learned from Jon Rothstein that the grad transfer will visit UK and Villanova after Stanford’s June 16 graduation.  Today Rothstein has an update, albeit one that lacks specifics.

That means that one week from today, Travis will (probably) have concluded his Kentucky visit.  The Cats will get a chance to make a lasting, impactful impression before Travis visits Villanova.

Folks, try not to geek too hard.

UPDATE (12:24)

KSR’s Matt Jones has been told the visit will likely happen on Tuesday.

We get him, he will be our best player as far as consistency and maturity. And will be the missing senior piece we need to lead this young talented group to #9. And I’m confident bc it seems like a no brainer. Come to UK, win a ship, and Cal will definitely rise your draft stock to lottery better than Villanova would. Who is Nova best player in the league right now besides Kyle Lawry?

I mostly agree. Most consistent and most mature, likely. Best player and senior leader, I think that’s too early to tell. Cal’s system seems to be unique, BBN’s a tough adjustment and prior transfers have required time to adapt. Travis is likely the most talented transfer and from the strongest program that Cal could get so far at UK. That makes me optimistic. Yet he’s an undersized 4 or slow 3 working on his shot and that tempers expectations. Hope we get him, he’s everything we expect, 9 happens and he realizes his NBA dreams after a season at UK. I just doubt the reality will match our starry-eyed hopes.
