    Glad Ryan got to talk!

Good job on the interview yesterday uncle Matt, I really enjoyed it.

Did you get the blinds up yet?

I honestly don’t understand all the hate for the new logo. I even read a post on Facebook where someone claimed they will never donate to UK again because they wasted $80,000 on a logo change that could have provided extra benefits to professors or education in general. To that person, if you are reading this… you are so ignorant it hurts. $80,000 is a drop in the bucket for a university’s expenses. That amount of money isn’t going to change a thing as far as education is concerned.

That’s true, but for $80,000, you’d think they could have come up with something better than that. I could have done better myself, and I would have only charged ten bucks.

I disagree with you. While $80,000 isn’t a lot to a university, it is a lot to a single donor. Something this small, could potentially make a huge impact.

On a similar note, the logo is ugly, but it won’t win or lose us games.

Agreed Jay. I also don’t get why people get their knickers in such a twist over something so trivial. It’s a logo, it has no effect at all on people’s daily lives.

      @Laker Cat 18

I’m not saying that an individual’s donations does not make a difference because everyone’s donations combined are what make the biggest difference. but to assume the university could have saved that $80,000 for a better purpose is naive.

I think a little context is missing from my rant. the person i was frustrated with specifically was angry that $80,000 was spent on a logo where that could have been spent on =raising a professor’s salary for example. My gripe with that is 1) world class organizations spend way more than 80,000 on logo design all the time… 80,000 isn’t THAT much compared to others. and 2) academics has plenty of money to pay professors. 80,000 is a drop in a bucket compared to that budget… that is what i was getting at.

I think a few people were ticked that they did not do something more creative, such as make it a contest for kids who are studying design or marketing or something along those lines, and maybe cover the winner’s tuition for a year.

Here’s what I’m assuming as far as the Stoops interview yesterday. He has decided to cut Dawson loose, but wants to let him get his feet on the ground for another job before it is released to the public. I’m ready to get this search rolling. What top level OC’s would consider Kentucky at this point?

I think we need to create a coordinator position. Coordinating coordinator. So we don’t always look confused and disorganized.

Maybe the coordinators need a good administrative assistant. 🙂

The last 62 years don’t matter, live in the now. With the salaries these coaches are making and the resources that has been giving to them we should have a better product on the field. Tennessee was bad for several years and brought in a guy who turned it around rather quickly. Other schools have done this as well. There is no excuse for so many dropped passes, missed tackles and disorganization.

It’s easier to turn around a team that USED to be good/great than it is to build a good program from a team that has been consistently bad throughout history (with a few exceptional years). people don’t understand this.

Yes there are success stories here and there, but they are the exceptions, not the rule.

ukjay, then to be fair, what is the problem with Arkansas basketball. They went to consecutive Championship games, and won a title. Haven’t been much since then.

Arkansas was a one coach team. They were good with Nolan Richardson, but not before or since.

Eddie Sutton took Arkansas to the Final Four and had a pretty successful career there before coming to UK.

Sutton got them to one Final Four in ten years. Even a blind pig finds a truffle once in awhile.

More like bench the WR’s when they decide not to catch the ball because they don’t feel like it.

Kendal Briles – Baylor. Would be my first pick. Doubt we could afford him though.

Doug Meacham – TCU. I only say this because he is a Co-OC. I think that gives us an outside shot.

Major Applewhite – Houston. Former Texas QB. Young, but has the experience as well. We could afford him.

All three put up a lot of points. We have to get out of this Air-Raid nonsense. It’s great, but it’s overrated these days.
