Does anybody know about Jordan Jones injury? Hoping it’s minor and he’ll be back.

Thought I heard them say on Tom Leach’s show that it was a hip pointer.

If it is a hip pointer, would not be surprised to see UK hold him out against Austin Peay to make sure he is ready to go for the Louisville game.

Was at the SFA game with my older daughter Friday evening. She had not really seen the freshmen play, so she was not familiar with them (she’s not as big of a UK addict as my younger daughter). After seein DeAaron blow by everyone on a fast break, her comment was “Wow, he’s REALLY good!” 😀

I think we may need to play Mulder more often early in the games to get him into a shooting groove and to keep opposing defenses honest.

the problem is that cal already admitted he would rather play the best defenders. and apparently mulder has deficiencies on the defensive end. otherwise i think he would absolutely be playing more first half minutes

Would like to see him more especially when the team is bricking so many jump shots like the first half yesterday

Nice pickup for Cal with the commitment of Alexander.
Tomorrow’s game will be a reasonable measuring stick for this team, though early in the season. I see Cal tightening up the lineup for tomorrow.

Totally agree with Matt that the “play not to lose” mentality is not the way to go for this program. I was encouraged to see us try to run a double reverse, even if it didn’t work that time (ball was underthrown by Johnson).

I was watching that game thinking that Gran and Hinshaw would open up the playbook a little more. That’s a game you would normally try new things in. On the road, you’re the underdog, most likely to become bowl eligible next week. Take a chance. I expected to see another trick play or two.

Fox has the speed of Wall, but with more control. He seems to be less turnover prone, at least early on. I hope we get our defense together soon!

Following the Georgia loss, I was still high on the Cats. Following the Tennessee loss, I was very disappointed. We can not punch the football into the end zone for a touchdown to save our lives. We need to learn how to turn FG’s into TD’s.

We had bodies dropping all over the field for no apparent reason. If we’re cramping, drink more water, pickle juice, or eat a banana. You know what kind of game it is. You have to prepare. What the heck was Westry doing falling down two or three times to stop the play? There’s a difference in being “hurt” and being “injured.” Suck it up and play. Westry has completely disappeared this year. Our DB’s are below where they should be at this point. I can’t remember a UK team who I thought was better at stopping the run than covering the pass. This is the first in years. Our defense looked VERY soft Saturday. There’s my football rant for the season.

  8. Nice get on the bball recruiting trail! It salves the wounds from the UT debacle a little.

I just don’t understand how even when we play a UGA team that should have beaten UT tough (and we should have won IMO), or play a #1 (2 years ago) Miss St. team tough, we still turn around and just lay a big giant egg against UT [I really wanted to say lay something else on the field but I like to maintain a certain amount of decorum 🙂 ]. Oh well, I’m glad we at least only have to beat the Governors to make a bowl now!

GO BBALL CATS AND BEAT MICHIGAN STATE!!!

Caller John is correct. Conservative play calling has cost us how many games during the Stoops regime? Eddie Gran has shown some imagination at times but someone on staff is still stomping out the creative and rational play-calls that would take us up a rung on the SEC ladder.

yeah a caller a week ago criticized the conservative play calling in the georgia game and how it cost us the game. matt defended it saying we were aggressive in the MSU game and it almost cost us the game anda that’s what scared them…

well guess what. aggressiveness “ALMOST” cost us the MSU game but we still won.
Conservitiveness “DID” cost su the UGA game…

which style do you prefer ?

Knowing that we’ll get the bowl locked in this week, in a game like Saturday as the underdog, I say be as aggressive as you can be. House money, as Drew said in a post.

Mississippi State is now behind UK 1 spot in the ESPN SEC power rankings. I guess it took a complete beat down at Alabama for them to realize that UK is better than MSU this year. Surprised Georgia hasn’t risen much despite wins against UK and Auburn.

The offense was not that bad. Score 36 and you should win the game. The game was lost on defense. We must get a grip on the defense, whether it be system, coaches, or players. We can’t cover, we can’t contain, we miss too many tackles, and can’t seem to be consistant with a pass rush. This is what costs games.

Not just missing tackles but poor tackling technique all around, where is the coaching there?

I thought it was $5K / game for the tailgating trailers. If you have that much money to spend, you can rent an RV and take the party wherever you want.

Drew corrected his own article almost right away. The company contacted him to let him know that they had not been sold and removed from Commonwealth. But of course, Matt would need to read KSR to know that. 🙂

    • The company rep corrected it in the comment section no less. Matt REALLY never reads that any more!

Completely understandable that Fox would not know who Kyle Macy was. It’s not like Macy had a long career in the NBA. Very few outside of UK fans who are over 30 would know about him.

Fans the same age of these players would probably not know the older players either.

Money is the only thing that Mitch McConnell cares about. He completely lost my vote back in the 90’s when he helped defeat campaign finance reform because it “threatened free speech”. Puuleeeze…
