Recap: Indians 13 Reds 0

There isn’t a whole lot to say when you get beat 13-0 so we are going to keep this one short. For the second night in a row, the Reds managed just three hits against the Indians pitching staff. There was simply nothing going at the plate tonight and it resulted in a lopsided shutout as the Ohio Cup remained in Cleveland once again.

Luis Castillo pitched five innings for the Reds giving up three runs on four hits while walking four and striking out nine. After that, the bullpen surrendered 10 additional runs and surrendered five walks. Jose De Leon had a very rough debut for Cincinnati giving up eight runs on four hits in his 1 2/3 innings of work.

The Indians got on the scoreboard early with a first inning Home Run from Jose Ramirez. The score remained at 1-0 until the fifth inning when Ramirez once again drove in a run with a triple to deep right field. The flood gates really opened in the seventh inning where the Tribe pushed across their final ten runs.

The Reds return to action tomorrow evening as they travel to Milwaukee for a three game weekend series. Trevor Bauer will take the mound at 7:10 p.m Eastern Time opposite Brewers Right-Hander Eric Lauer.

When did the switch to reds sports radio happen? I know you’re starving for content right now but who gives a ish about MLB and what is apparently the worst team in the league?

Thanks for the Reds coverage! Had a lot of hope this year, but they have got off to a bad start. Seems like nothing changes.

Big Reds fan here. Before the season I would have identified the bullpen as a potential weak link. Little did I know just how terrible it would actually be.

Can we at least get a rule that when they’re out of contention officialy these go away? Wish I could get the same agreement on my local ESPNRadio…. because yes the sounds of the Reds getting pounding or blowing a lead is the option I want on my commute home. #SaidNoOneEver

Stop projecting your love for the Reds on Kentucky fans. We don’t care.
