Kentucky remains in the hunt for one of Michigan’s top football recruits.
Saturday evening Rayshaun Benny revealed his eight finalists, narrowing his list to Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, LSU, Penn State, Arizona State, Arkansas and Tennessee.

A four-star recruit from Detroit, MI, last season he shared an offensive and defensive line with Kentucky’s Justin Rogers at Oak Park High School. Like Rogers, recruiting services consider him an offensive lineman (247 Composite ranks him as the #6 player in Michigan, #19 OT) yet he prefers playing on the defensive line at the collegiate level. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic Benny unofficially visited UK’s campus with Rogers.
Steve Clinkscale has exceeded expectations recruiting in the Great Lakes State. This might be his most difficult task to date. Michigan and Michigan State have been heavily involved with Benny for years and the former recently received a handful of Crystal Ball picks.
Benny has not set a decision date. The more time he takes, the more time he gives Kentucky to wedge themselves in-between Benny and the home state schools.
