Kansas may be the favorite for five-star guard Quentin Grimes, but he still wants to take an official visit to Kentucky; so much so that he’s skipping the Jayhawks’ Late Night in the Phog event to do so.
According to Chris Fisher, Grimes will take his official visit to Lexington the weekend of September 29. On Sunday, Grimes hosted John Calipari and Kenny Payne on an in-home visit, which he told Fisher went “really well.” Cal and Payne tied the visit on to their trip to Houston, where they visited the Red Cross Disaster Recovery Headquarters following the Teaming Up for Texas telethon, which raised over $1 million for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
It’s hard for me to imagine Grimes going anywhere but Kansas, but turning down their midnight madness event to come to Lexington is a noteworthy development. Come on down and enjoy yourself, young man.
