Put those three goggles up! It’s time for KSR (Wednesday Show Thread)

@DTackettjr13
Good morning, friends, and welcome to the Wednesday edition of Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, Patrick Patterson threw up the three goggles after hitting a trey in Toronto’s win over Sacramento. I suggest we all do the same as we get ready for two hours of Matt and Ryan talking C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS. Today, the guys will discuss the ongoing offensive coordinator search and Friday’s game against Texas. They’ll also probably make fun of Rick Pitino and Tom Crean just because.
Join in on the fun by calling (502) 571-1080.

I think it’s time we hear from Uncle Garry. It’s been awhile.
What is the latest rumor with Neal’s replacement?
After watching UL last night, I think we’ll have no problems taking them down. It was more OSU looking terrible in the first half; some of that was UL’s defense, no doubt, but any top ten team is going to handle that pressure better than OSU did in the 1st half. No skilled size(aside from Trez, who is just REALLY good), and foul trouble will affect the Cards very quickly! Cats by 12-15…
I wonder why there is still a show thread.
Are you sure you want Ryan checking twitter? π
Matt is probably that guy still running IOS 3.2 …..
U of L will turn the game into a “defensive” smashmouth type game, and I think that will come back to bite them. They will struggle to score more than KU did. The Cats can withstand more foul trouble than anyone else in the country and keep right on rolling.
I remember some games last year by a lot, and the whistle got us. Arkansas at Arkansas last year. We got called for every touch foul (which are fouls, I’m fine with that), but we would get slapped, smacked, and beat up with no whistle. Randle never seemed to get the fouls.
I say this will be how we lose this year. If all of our blocks are called fouls, we will be doomed. Well not doomed, but that is how we lose in my opinion.
I would like to see a three guard lineup to beat Louisvilles press. The combination of Ulis, Aaron, Andrew, and Booker with two bigs that can handle the ball as well.
I think the long outlet pass to one of our bigs at the other end of the court will be a great press breaker against Louisville.
that would really overwhelm them if we put 6 guys out there, good idea
A combination of three from the four…….duh. I know how to count to five. Three guards from those four.
I think he just saw your twitter picture.
Why does Ryan think “peace out” is so funny? I feel like he says it every time he gets the slightest opportunity
Was pretty funny when he got John Short to say it.
I just read that Vince Marrow is a candidate for a head coaching job at Youngstown State…please don’t let this happen!!!!!!!!
Dakich hit n the exact reason this team WILL go undefeated:
In order for the Cats to lose, TWO completely separate teams are going to have to have a bad game on the same night.
The fact that the SEC network nor anyone else is televising the UK vs UL women’s game is simply ridiculous. Prior to the SEC network this game would have certainly been on at least on FSS.
Who would of thought Missouri, Florida, and Tennessee would have the worst record thus far in the SEC. Now I know schedules have been tougher when compared to the others, but it’s still shocking to see them at the very bottom.

Came across this today.
Kind of amusing, but I’m glad to see that not too many UK fans piled on and talked smack, even though we had every right to. Some UK fans were actually pretty classy in the comments section – makes BBN look good!
Kentucky Kid Up for Manning Award this week:
The Allstate Sugar Bowl gives out a weekly Manning Award winner for the weeks best performances at the QB position. A local kid from Frankfort, Ky (Sophomore – Logan Woodside) is up for the award this week, but is behind the QB from Rutgers by a couple hundred votes. Voting ends tommorrow
I was hoping to get a “Kentucky Effect ” surge if we could and help him win this award!
This young man has worked very hard to get where he is, and after taking over for Alabama Transfer Philip Ely early in the season has shown what he can do…Leading Toledo to a share of the Mac West Title this season and an 8-4 record overall.
All you have do is like the Allstate Sugar bowl Facebook Page (link below)
Go to Woodside’s picture and click like.

Here is the blurb about him
Logan Woodside, Toledo Rockets (14-of-18, 323 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 90.1)
Woodside sets his career-high for touchdown passes, including an 89-yard first-quarter hook-up with Kishon Wilcher as the Rockets earn a share of the Mid-American West division championship with a 52-16 road victory over Eastern Michigan.
Harrell looked like the complete package against Minnesota, hitting three’s and FT’s, but he has reverted to form lately. He is a very strong rebounder and shot blocker, but his ball handling is suspect and he can be taken out of a game if you can get him too hyped up. He still commits a lot of silly fouls. Best way to neutralize him is keep him off the boards and cut off his lane to the basket. Make him shoot from outside. And goad him into foul trouble.
matt, agree, battier was horrible! I didn’t know who it was and I text my buddy “who is this monotone guy who randomly chimes in?” he knew it was battier … terrible … was that his first time? maybe he just needs to hear himself and can get better, but that was just bad.
I can’t stand Harrell. His dunks where he tries to rip the rim off but also kind of swing on it to look cool are the worst. Yes he plays ok defense and flies around on the court but he doesn’t create his own buckets. But don’t tell that to him, his chest pumping and arrogant hunched over run like he is a badass back down the court makes everyone want to be like him. *sigh*
5-7, nuff said, u guys are insane if u think Stoops is going get an offer from Michigan or Nebraska with a record like that & a 2nd year still unproven coach. With that said I’m a Stoops guy but he still has to prove he can build a program & get UK turned into a winner, then the jobs may come, them I might be worried.
i don’t disagree… but no one asked you
… weird, responded to wrong person. coincidentally, i don’t disagree with you either. the only thing stoops has proven to do is recruit. Hoke recruited very well at Michigan. He just couldn’t get his players to perform (or stay healthy in many cases). didn’t follow nebraska as closely, but from what i understand, bo was a decent coach, just not the right fit.
Matt, what would keep schools like UMass, Memphis and others from filing a class action lawsuit against the NCAA if they don’t do anything to UNC? That would speak volumes about the arbitrary way they enforce the rules.
Morning Matt – Hard to take off my eyes from your CUTE sweater and look forward to seeing you guys at the newly opened McDonald on Harrodsburg Rd Friday π

I would like to point out that when we played UT-Arlington it was our 5th game in 9 days including a trip to Chicago to play Kansas.
BREAKING NEWS!!!
Ryan Timmons dropped several passes because of an ankle injury. Come on guys!
The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa is in control and doesn’t want them there especially if they are getting better imo.
UAB is in the University of Alabama system. Their Board of Trustees is headed by Paul Bryant, Jr. who has blocked many initiatives to fund a new stadium on campus, etc. Bryant doesn’t want to give more money to that school as he thinks it takes away from Alabama (which is obviously not true).
Without that money UAB can’t survive. They play in a horrible stadium, don’t have a good practice field, etc.
UAB also had a chance to get Jimbo Fisher at one time and that was stopped by almighty Alabama.
Born and raised in Huntington and would love to see Marshall and UK play in football especially with a return game in Huntington, but it’s important to note that Marshall isn’t really losing that game on their schedule as UAB was also in Conference USA. The Conference is already lopsided with 7 teams in the east and 6 teams in the west so they should have no trouble scheduling without UAB.
Wasn’t Capilouto at UAB before UK?
Before last night’s game, U of L was hitting 22% from the 3=point line, and were in the bottom 10 in Division 1..
Updated stats:
U of L is hitting 26.3%, and are # 326 of 351 Division 1 teams.
