Plenty of Kentucky in Top 100 College Basketball Players

skalmurray came out with their top 101 players in college basketball this season and to the surprise of no one Kentucky is well represented on the list. They explain the list isn’t made for MVP’s, overall value to a team or how one might look at All-Americans, but rather you’re playing a game of pickup and want to pick the best players.

Jamal Murray led the way for the Wildcats at No. 5 as Skal was right behind him at No. 6. In an ironic fashion Kyle Wiltjer came in at No. 4, just goes to show you how good Cal is at finding talent. Also on the list were Tyler Ulis at No. 33 and Alex Poythress at No. 87. North Carolina, Kansas, Maryland and Duke also had four players on the list.

Kris Dunn was voted No. 1 by the staff. Now, I know he’s not on the list now but at the end of the season don’t be surprised to see Isaiah Briscoe on this list. Thoughts? Complaints? Let me hear them.

do an article comparing this team to our 2012 national championship team, compare player by player, experience, skill and who willl need to step up to fully challenge that team. that would be an interesting post right before BBM. i honestly think the teams are very much a like , they just had overall better skill but we got more depth this year

It’s a little hard to believe that there are 100 players in college basketball that are better than Briscoe

Any list with Ulis outside of the top 20 is broken. Any list with Briscoe outside of the top 50 is broken.

They described this list as “the order they would pick players up for a pick up game they wanted to win”… if I want to win a pick up game there’s definitely not many players I’m picking before ulis, let alone 32 of them. Honestly Briscoe should be in, and Poythress out until he proves his ACL has fully recovered.
