In a surprise to no one Kentucky was voted the best program in the Commonwealth over the next five years. CBSSports.com came out with ‘The United State of College Basketball’, looking at the state of college hoops, where programs are and where they will be in the near future.

The major factors used to come up with the list was;

Is the coaching staff solid?

What kind of young players are enrolled right now?

Is recruiting heading in the right direction or not?

The Widcats were the unanimous selection in Kentucky thanks to what they call as the perfect marriage in college basketball history. Read the outlook right here:

Louisville is one heck of a rival for the Wildcats, but you know this is Kentucky all the way. John Calipari, as I’ve said/written myriad times in the past three years, is the perfect coach for the perfect program at the perfect time. There has never been a better marriage in the history of college basketball than the timing of Cal to Kentucky. As for the smaller schools, Northern Kentucky, Murray State and Western Kentucky are all strong candidates to make multiple NCAA Tournaments in the next five seasons.

Big brother wins again.

    What do they mean PREDICTED to be? They ARE the #1 program in the state. Always have been, always will be.
